Vitamin supplements
Hi everybody, I have had a suggestion that I may need a supplement of vitamin D and magnesium. This was from a friend, but I wondered if I should see a GP before I start taking anything else. I take 20mg of amitriptyline so I don't want anything to react with this. Any advice would be appreciated.

amitriptyline
hi, I take 50mg of the above at night for trapped nerve pain. I have taken them for few years. I have begun to feel more groggy and tired in the mornings. 8 days ago I decided to try 40mg, not quite as groggy but not sleeping has well, can feel my neck pain slightly worse. I also feel a little down.

Amitriptyline
Guys. Does anybody have any evaluation/views on this drug in terms of effect on brain? My story goes way back maybe 10 years and at the time concerned lots of chronic pain (back, knees). The docs were about to give up when I told them I'd read about the ability of an old anti-depressant to alleviate

Rheumy keeps saying everything is due to fibromyligia not my RA & I don't think I even have fibromyligia
Been diagnosed with RA just over a year but I had symptoms for at least 2 years previously. 4 years ago had diagnosis of underactive thyroid and docs made me believe all symptoms were due to that. The RA is everywhere, no joint has been missed!!! I'm on leflunomide (off MTX as awful side effects). My

It didn't work ðŸ˜
For those who remember that I was hoping that my worsened condition due to amitriptyline would reflect in my latest round of blood results...it didn't! ANA was back down at 1:80 and zero zip zilch extractable antibodies of any kind. Something very interesting though...my ESR has stayed consistently

Should I wait longer?
Hello everyone, I've been on my Amitriptyline for 4 weeks now and I don't feel like the depression is lifting at all. It has helped my anxiety so much but depression - no! Should I give it more time? I'm up to 50mg now. I know therapeutic dose is 75-100mg so not there yet but thought I'd start to feel

Missing period and pain
Dear all, I hope you are having a good day. As I look out of my window, I see what is bright sunshine glowing against a beautiful blue sky on a chilly morning, and while I should be happy; I am not. I have had deep endometriosis for many years and had 7 laparoscopies to date where the endo was diathermied

Any meds that don't cause weight gain?
Hi all, hope your Sunday has started well. I have tried gabapentin, amitriptyline and pregabalin, but all made me so hungry I put on considerable amounts of weight. Co-Codamol doesn't do that, but can be addictive, so not allowed to take it every day. I heard that in the USA some people use meds like

Mood changes
Hi all, I thought initially amitriptyline as a prevention medication had been working for my migraines, I only take up to 20mg however been told I could increase this to 30mg if I wanted to. I have also been prescribed Sumatriptan for when an attack occurs. I know dosages can be taken higher over time

Saliva Adrenal Testing while on Antidepressents
Hi, I am thinking of having this test done privately. My only concern is could the fact I am on Amitriptyline cause the results to be out of line? I am only on a small dose 30 a night. Any advice would be gratefully received. Thanks.

Sceptical GP wants me off Pred and on Amitriptyline
Hello everyone. Recap – 69 years old male and up till 2 years ago very fit and active. I’ve posted a few times before but this time I really need some advice! After 2 years on Pred, I reduced to 4.5mg, and have had, depressingly, to increase again to 7.5mg. Sadly splitting the dose didn't help, but

First - so many thanks for all the supportive comments when I posted yesterday, you lovely people. You really helped me clarify my thoughts and go into today's appointment in a positive frame of mind. The outcome was a mixed bag, which I am going to have to reflect on in the coming days and weeks.
