LJI scientists uncover immune cells that may lower airway allergy and asthma risk.
The world is full of house dust mites. Do some cleaning, and you’ll probably stir some up. While everyone has immune cells capable of reacting to common allergens like house dust mites, most of us have no allergic symptoms. Still, many people do react with the typical allergic symptoms: sneezing, a

World Revolving Around Food.
Since lockdown I've been cooking every meal myself; fresh, healthy and from scratch. But I feel like most of my time is revolving around food, whether that be shopping for food, cooking, cleaning up, watching food videos, planning meals or thinking about and looking forward to food. I'm starting to absolutely

Rhinitis and RA
I have had rhinitis my whole life. My nose is constantly blocked, not with mucus but more swollen. I don’t suffer from hay fever but I do start sneezing when the weather changes. Anyway, I have recently read about a link between rhinitis and RA. I wondered if anyone else has suffered from chronic allergies

What I wish I had asked my GP/asthma nurse (when first diagnosed 😉)
Hi everyone This is a repost of one of my posts from over 2 years ago 😱😱😂, but I thought it would be useful to update it, and repost it to anyone new to the forum and to asthma in general! A few years ago I read an article about shared appts with GPs ( http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-45770998 ), and

Allergy tests
Hi everyone, first post on here. I am wondering whether to get an allergy test as my itchy skin is getting worse. I wash & moisturise with epaderm plus double base. But recently the itching is moving around, which does seem strange. I take cetirizine daily but this isn't helping much anymore. Could

Gonna take a little bit longer than 9 weeks....
Yesterday I completed the first run of week 5. I thought it looked a bit daunting but actually I really enjoyed it. However, I had an allergy test this morning and the patches have to stay on my back for 3 days, and I can't shower until Thursday. So, I think I will do run 1 again to get back into

Chinese food ingredients
So the first time I was diagnosed of high blood pressure I had eating Chinese food I experienced pain in my chest. I ignored it first time and went and ate the same food about three times I'll experience chest pain. So I finally said it has to be something in the food. So my NP puts me on Amlodipine

Hayfever - Week 7 Run 2
Wow can't believe its week 7 already. Its my 1st post but love seeing the support the group gives to each other throughout my C26K journey. Run 2 was really hard today with Hayfever. Anyone else had to battle with Hayfever whilst trying to run. Do feel with my nose blocked it is hindering my runs.

Bronchiectasis & Hay fever
Hi Do any of you here who have bronchiectasis also suffer from hayfever ? I went out for a walk today to get some air in my lungs but the pollen count has been quite high, so I don't feel any better, although I am still suffering a bit from having a drink (3pints) on Saturday as I mentioned in another

Hay fever and Asthma Hell
So far have really been fighting a good fight, but do feel there are external forces who don’t agree with me running...Took an extra rest day after my last run to wake up to this pollen count...🤯 UPDATE: Did it! W7R2 done! Did have to use my inhaler half way through, and during the Toxic Ten it was

Fiery nerve pain, allergies or???
My medical story is complicated. A few days ago I was put on Tildiem for SVT prevention. It seems to have re triggered GERD (that I only just got under control 😫😔), but also what I thought was hay fever, but I’m not so sure. I took loratadine the earlier and it’s made no difference. I stopped the Tildiem

Weird new allergies and non-allergic asthma
Anyone else have this issue? I have severe non-allergic, non-eosinophilic asthma, but also have hayfever - which is a bit weird but I have read up on it and it's possible; seems to be mainly trees. I have triggers including floral scents such as lavender, rose, violet etc but they just trigger asthma
