I have auto immune hepatitis. I wonder does anyone know why they put you on immuno suppressants - i.e. - presdnisone ( can't spell it) and then azathioprine and then wean you off it just when you start feeling better. I will ask him next time, but with brain fog I'm forgetting where my elbow is as

Am I too late?
I was diagnosed with PCOS a few years ago (aged 30) but had been on dianette since I was 17 as I was having no periods. I always thought it was likely that I had PCOS as I had always had some excess hair on my snail trail and a couple of other places. In January I came off my pill as I was ttc but within

dry hair with flaky scalp
anyone else find that their hair is like straw with no shine? I've always had dry hair and its also curly. If I use conditioner i find it just causes my scalp to be flaky. Does anyone recommend any types of shampoo and conditioner or possible supplements. I already take the B12 co-factors. i'm on

Hello
Hi, I recently went to a dermatologist who said I might have scalp psoriasis but I went to take a second opinion from another dermatologist and she said this is dandruff. I get itchiness, burning and flakiness on my beard and itchiness and burning on my scalp. Itchiness on eyebrows and flaky ears. I

DSAP (disseminated superficial actinic Porokeratosis
I developed this rare in UK, skin problem many years ago. I cannot get any treatment for it apparently it's a cosmetics condition yet it can become malignant. It's red, scaly itchy and painful at times. I'm unable to spend time in the sun at all. It may not be life threatening but it's life changing

Don't Give Up!
Hi Everyone, I have replied to a few of you individually but, as we all seem to suffer so many similarities, I thought I'd write a general post with my PCOS story I was diagnosed with PCOS at 21 (I'm now 36) and have suffered with being overweight, loss of hair from my head, excess facial and body hair

Non Fragrant Shampoo - Advice needed
Due to past dandruff and very greasy hair I currently use head&shoulders citrus shampoo. I am now finding as my copd progresses that I am very sob while washing my hair. Can anybody suggest a non-fragrance shampoo that will have the same effect. Not really into alternative medicines or remedies though

Bowen's disease
Good morning everybody. I have been on Embrel for approx 8 years and my RA is reasonably well controlled. However I have developed a skin condition called Bowen's disease on my lower left leg. It's pre- cancerous and treatable. It can be caused by a suppressed immune system - i.e by Embrel. Has anyone

Methotrexate and sulfadiazine
Hi everyone, just prescribed sulfadiazine alongside methotrexate injections as the MTX doesn't seem to be helping. Anyone have any experiences taking these 2 meds together, bit apprehensive about starting the sulfadiazine after reading side effects.....although to be fair all side effects rubbish ..

BOTOX!
Totally off-piste - I've done it! I've had my number 11, scored like twin Grand Canyons down between my eyebrows, stunned into submission. I went to the dentist two weeks ago - yes, the dentist; figured that if anyone will know about facial anatomy it will be a dentist , rather than one of those orange

Discussing NOAC/Warfarin question.
I had an interesting session with my INR nurse, who, in conjunction with one of the GPs in our practice, who runs all things to do with AF. I asked her opinion on the pros and cons of switching to a NOAC and was given a very full run down. I mentioned the extra cost over Warfarin and was told it made

Warfarin, Verapamil and Aspirin
I intend to ask my doctor, but talking to a fellow AF'er who is not permanent he takes aspirin as well as Warfarin. I'm wondering if this would be safe with Verapamil also. He says, taking low dose aspirin makes the platelets have a shiny surface so that they can't stick to each other and form clots.

Is anyone using enoxaparin inj. Only for APS?
Dr is willing to put me on enoxaparin every 12 hrsand take me off of warfarin, I will still maintain my low dose aspirin , as well as, plaquinil, any thoughts/concerns I should be aware of? Anything I should avoid while on the enoxaparin?

Has been diagnosed with endo effecting ureter, ovary and some other places recently. The endo specialist booked me in for a diagnostic Laproscopy and a stent placement for 3 months! He plan to do the big op in 3 months time after hormone treatment. Never had surgery or pain before. I am a bit worried
