Due to past dandruff and very greasy hair I currently use head&shoulders citrus shampoo. I am now finding as my copd progresses that I am very sob while washing my hair. Can anybody suggest a non-fragrance shampoo that will have the same effect. Not really into alternative medicines or remedies though.

Non Fragrant Shampoo - Advice needed
Try E45 shampoo. Is nice and gentle and don't think strong smell.
I don't think it will be the shampoo that will be making you sob, it's the effort of washing. I get sob just thinking about it now lol
Head and Shoulders can be bought without the citrus fragrance. They do several varieties and I would suggest trying the 'classic clean'. And Tam has a point, the effort of washing hair can leave you very breathless.
Some great replies there Mike and you could try a health food shop perhaps. Xxxx
Thankyou all for sound advice
Hi mikeadams51 as already suggested the problem may not be the shampoo but the physical exertion of washing your hair.
My wife has trouble washing her hair due to having COPD so I help wash her hair. Possibly you could ask someone for assistance and see if that helps.
Regards. John
Head and sholder is just as good as any it is not the shampo it is the chin down on the chest
I find the high humidity bending over a sink washing my hair makes me feel rough. I now tend to wash my hair in the bath as I lie flat to rinse rather than hunch up.
Thats what i do thats why i thought it maybe the fragrance
Hi I wash my hair in the shower. And still get breathless. And I don't have a sense of smell. X
As suggested by others here, it's probably the exertion that's the main reason for sob whilst washing your hair. I care for my husband who has advanced copd & emphysema. Sometimes his sob is so bad he can barely move. I discovered a product called a shampoo cap. It's brilliant. It's like a big shower cap, but sort of impregnated with shampoo. You pop it in the microwave for a few seconds to heat then put it on the head and just massage which washes the hair. You take it off and, hey presto, the hair is squeeky clean. No need to rinse or anything, just rub it or blow dry. I bought them online from Amazon. (Google 'shower cap'). Think they cost about £10 for 5. A really amazing invention for anyone who has difficulty washing their hair for whatever reason.
Hi. One of my daughters uses dry shampoo, it's brilliant, then she only washes her hair once a week (in dirty London). She uses a dandruff shampoo by Aveda weekly, expensive but all natural. There are also natural shampoos to be found in Healthfood shops. Good luck. P
Thankyou. I will give your suggestions a try
Hi! I too have a very strong intolerance to any scents. Not just in the shower. I am currently researching fragrance free shampoo and conditioners as well. It is not just the exertion that gets to me in the shower as I have a seat and handheld shower head. My old shampoo updated and I can’t tolerate it. I have ordered on Function of beauty as I can customize what I need as well as dry and fragrance free. I hope it works out when I get it. There is also Prose, desert essence and earth science which I haven’t tried yet. I, however, live in US so the items may not be the same. Some are available on amazon
