They found the missing half of my liver!
Had an MRI with contrast yesterday and the whole liver was there again. Yay! I blame the Borrowers- sneaky little illegal lodgers. Looong day though. Took mom for her cardiology appointment at 10 then had to wait till 2 for my scan. Nearly fell asleep in there. Just the wait for the official relocation

My Mom, Predinose, Actemra Infusions, and today a clean bill of health.
Many of you have seen my updated posts in the past regarding my Mom and her diagnosis of GCA. This month marks 2.5 years from day of diagnosis. Today she was dismissed by her Rheumatologist. My Mom no longer has any symptoms of GCA and her blood work is all normal. There will be a six month follow up

Post ablation
Had my ablation last Tuesday at Kaiser Hospital Santa Clara CA. Everything went well; they ablated both pulmonary veins, also found and ablated other electrical signals on the roof of my left atrium and a few spots in my right atrium. Felt OK coming out of anesthesia, though had to lie flat on my back

Ibogaine update
I experimented with ibogaine last year for about a month, but stopped taking it when I kept experiencing bizzare visual delayed trails. I was worried about this phenomenon, as I've had cataract surgery a couple of years ago and a small retinal issue, so I decided to stop taking it. I decided last month

Tapering Pred on Actemra Feeling Bad @4Mg... Normal?
Hi, I was wondering if anyone else has gotten on Actemra and tapering down off Pred? I had been diagnosed with PMR 4 yrs ago at 54 and more recently GCA. Had trouble bumping down Pred w/out markers going up, got down to 2 mg. but had to bump back up, ending up at 15mg again. Started on Actemra in March

IM injection technique question
When you inject, do you pull back on the needle to see if blood is drawn up? I've seen some advice to do this, but some instructions I've seen skips this step.

Liver Function tests
Hi everyone, I had LFT done at GP surgery last week and the result was "satisfactory". I have a had a good few LFTs over the years and I've always had positive results. However, I have a very fatty liver with fibrosis so, I'm wondering what is the point of the LFT?

Question about right-sided pain
So I was diagnosed with NASH/liver fibrosis in February. I've drastically changed my lifestyle. Although it wasn't caused by alcohol, I did enjoy drinking occasionally, but haven't had any alcohol since December. I eat as healthy as I can living in the states. Pretty much just greens, meats and a little

I have just read Jim's post about his wife now on 5mg prednisone and reducing having had Actemra. I am in a similar position having been diagnosed with large vessel GCA in November 2017 although with symptoms for at least 9 months prior to that. I too am down to 5mg prednisone ( I was on 100mg daily

Update review at 18 weeks after 3rd ozurdex
Hi All, Well oedema returning so 4 th implant planned. Doc says as long as I have some positive response then we can continue unless IOP or other factor becomes an issue. I am now officially chronic ( & cranky lol). Regarding cataract - firstly my friend got her situation wrong. It's not her cataract
