I have had 8 Eylea injections for Wet AMD in my Right eye which has worked very well and I am being kept under observation by the hospital but I was told that Macu Shield tablets may help the Dry AMD in my left eye but I am reluctant to try these as I can't get much information about them.
Has anyone tried them and if they work to improve sight.
Thank you

We have discussed MacuShield and other supplements several times - but due to variations in spelling you have to search for supplement rather than the name of the supplement to find them
Here is a previous discussion but I can't find the others
I really do recommend the FAQs I linked to before on the AREDs study which is the source of the MacuShield formula - there are a number of makes based either on the AREDS or the CREST study, I take MacuSave which is more the CREST formula
Supplements are supplements, not medicines, They will help maintain and possibly very slightly improve vision, but they won't reverse existing conditions
Here's really good clear information about AREDS from the US National Eye Institute
Thank you very much for your reply and will look at the AREDS study, I have to say that as the tablets are so expensive I did wonder if they would make any appreciable difference to my eye as the Consultant at the hospital never mentioned them but the Sister in charge of the unit did, I saw her on my last visit and the hospital will send follow up appointments for me, which is very good.
