Drops to replace intravitreal injections
Hi All, I attended the RSM event about development of drops to replace injections but delayed posting as promised as had cataract surgery on Monday. So far so good with surgery- it is brilliant at the moment so hoping this continues. I had to try and fit it in between Eyelea injections for BVRO. So

Best time to take Ramipril morning or bedtime?
I'm a 67 yr old woman and I have recently been prescribed Ramipril for really high blood pressure. I was given Amlodipine first, but had every side effect possible and some, then was changed to Propranolol which suited me great but when seeing a doctor because I couldn't breath properly was told it was

We have seen the Heptologist
Finally the day arrived and he was great. He told us the the Child’s Pugh score was 10 and I can’t remember the name for,the other score but he said to be considered for Liver Transplant the score is 49 and my husband’s score was 51. He is putting him on to Rifaximin and wants him to reduce the amount

Raised bilirubin and abdominal pain
Hi, So for just under a year now I’ve been having on and off mild to moderate abdominal pain just below my ribs on the right side. I’ve had numerous blood tests which have all show raised bilirubin. Ranging for 35 to 65umol. I’ve had an abdominal ultrasound Which came back normal. But the pain has still

Fatty liver
Need advise. I have grade 3 fatty liver from alcohol I think. Was certainly a drinker. Binge one at that over many years decades. My cap score was 328. I've not drank for 1 year now. I've lost abit of weight by cutting bk on unhealthy food. Does anyone know if stopping drinking and watching what I eat

Lungs
I have ALD and am currently on 50mg Spironolactone for ascites and 40mg Propanolol for varices. I keep getting slightly bubbly lungs when I lie down for a while and in the morning. Is this related to the ALD or entirely separate? Thanks. Wendy

Tedsui looking for support
Hi - I'm a newbie to this site as my husband has recently been diagnosed with Primary Sclerosing Cholangitis (this wasn't an option in the search box so I ticked PBC instead) He attends our local hospital weekly for blood tests and was an in-patient from 2l to 24 January 2020, as his liver blood results

Cataract surgery and CLL
My dad, 82yo, has been suffering from CLL for 7.5 years. He is on Ibrutinib, which seems to help, but he has low platellets count. He will need a cataract surgery on both eyes pretty soon. I am interested to hear others' experiences with cataract surgery while on CLL treatment.

Test result guidance
Hello all. Happy new year! I haven’t posted in a while. It’s been a hectic year of cataract surgery and elbow surgeries. Hoping 2020 will be calmer. Today I had a rheumy appointment. I was due a follow up 6 months ago but my consultant has grown a two year backlog so today I was seen by another doctor

Just chatted with a gentleman with GCA
A friend told me she had a friend who's husband lost his sight completely due to GCA and gave me his phone number after giving him a heads-up. He is 79 also and lost his sight 15 years ago. He said he suddenly lost one eye but his doctor was so apprehensive about prednisone that he was never 'hit'

If you take Azilect, read this
I have had a cold now for 10 days. Last night I developed a bad cough, so I took some Dextromethorphan caps that I have in the house. Previously I had been prescribed Azilect, but my insurance denied to authorize payment. Thank G-d. This morning, I checked Dextromethorphan on the internet (I'm a retired

Fructosamine test
The difference in the tests is that the Fructosamine measures the average over a period of 2-3 weeks, while the HbA1C measures the average over a period of 2-3 months. The HbA1C test reveals more long-term glucose control, while the fructosamine test reveals short-term. Fructosamine testing may be used

Cataract Operation / Lens Implant
Has anyone had a cataract operation, lens implant. I assume it’s ok to have this op while having an MPN, the eye surgeon didn’t know about MPNs. I have ET (MPL) and on Pegasys.

Annual update, DNA testing, Gastric Bypass, Fungal Skin Infection, Brittle Nails, Looking for GI doc
So almost a year has gone by, now I am headed into being 47, still struggling with Dupuytrens in my right hand, but had the cataract surgery and things are looking "brighter" LOL. I recently did my DNA through 23 and Me, did not tell me much healthwise, but I did find out that I am 83% Irish and English

First post and I am a wife of a sufferer
Hi and thanks for even reading this. My husband was diagnosed beginning of Sept with alcoholic liver disease and had ascites, oedema, some jaundice, tiredness etc. Our GP has been amazing and he has had the ascites drained ( 8.75L) and condition is we think stable. I'm just finding it hard and ended

Good news
Had my every 10 yr colonoscopy this AM and all good. Next one in 10 years. Yahoo. Back of ibrutinib that I held for 3+ days before. No lymph nodes bouncing up not that I thought there was much of a chance, but glad anyway. A bit out of it from the anesthesia so I will keep this short.
