You know you're addicted when....
My
addiction
became most apparent today when I almost cracked an Easter bunny over a mirror (in case your wondering it was to save the bed sheets). All I could think was that I seem like a crack addict getting a fix!

W7 R1 - first run on the street
Have even sat on the PC planning out new routes to run - it does become a bit addictive but at least it's a good
addiction
:-) Happy running everyone

TO THINE OWN SELF BE TRUE
I think the answer to that is because it is an
addiction
– like alcohol or like drugs. There are some that define alcoholism as an illness but I’ve never heard anyone call smoking or the taking of any drugs (be they prescription or illegal substances) by anything other than ‘
addiction
’.

Thursday - about 5pm, 21 March' 13...
However, this day I'm still a smoker, as I haven't been able to sit through the desire to feed this Nicotine
Addiction
yet. It's slowly dawning on me, that I may well have to put quite a bit more work and effort into dealing with these desires - of feeding this

FRIENDS .....
We will live without feeding our
addiction
because we will still eat, drink, sleep, etc. Yes we can cope, it will be hard, sometimes very hard and sometimes extremely hard, but we can do this. Our survival instinct will kick in and we will definitely be OK.

My battle so far...and where I am now..
I have had problems with drugs in the past, and drinking to excess but I wouldn't say its an
addiction
. I use to self harm alot, including cutting and breaking bones but since controlled that and used other outlets like sport for a release.

All about the
addiction
of Acetaldehyde in tobacco, this too helps keep us addicted seemingly. Helps me understand why all the Gum, Patches, Lozenges only partially help - for the Nicotine of course.

My life without fags!
Ive decided to give myself a break and accept that smoking is a nasty horrible
addiction
that I have total control over (if I choose to) and im going to beat it once and for all. As a smoker I feel low, unhealthy and pretty bad about myself.

Nicotine Addiction ! Interesting article on why it is hard to stop AND why its worth it .
Nicotine tricks your brain by stimulating the reward pathways with a shot of dopamine, the hormone that tells us that things like food and sex are pleasurable. It also increases activity in the cholinergic pathways of the brain. These pathways are concentrated in the brain stem and are believed to be

Want a little read that could help you ?
Look how cheap this book is second hand, if you are thinking of stopping or have stopped smoking but are struggling I really would recommend reading this book from cover to cover, it works on your mind and makes you understand how to stop the
addiction
to nicotine, I am now approaching a full year free

Whoppeeee dee a whole year gone
I am now cured from the
addiction
and am happy and content to be free. Why did it take me so long to really want to be free of smoking? I have no idea why I was read?. I have no idea why reading a self help book clicked with me.

The positives and negatives
I sometimes wish that I had patches or some other thing but I haven't and I made the conscious decision to go it without any 'aids' because I don't want to replace one

for another.

Giving up Ecigs.
I intend to persevere, substituting one
addiction
for another doesn't seem too sensible. Here's to a smoke, and vape, free life!
