Heart Failure & Smoking.....
Hi all, My husband had a sudden heart attack on Sunday evening and was rushed into hospital and had a stent fitted. Luckily he seems pretty normal and is back home recovering. Due to how major the heart attack was,he has now been told that he has heart failure as his ejection fraction is at 25%

Symptoms a year after CABG, 20 months after Heart Attack.
I would be interested in the experiences of others relating to the aftermath of CABG surgery. Potted history: From around summer 2017 when aged 60, I started to feel a mild tingling and "tight" sensation sometimes under my left ribs, sometimes in my back around the same height. It continued on and

Medical miscarriage - is it safe to take again for the 2nd time? Any long term effects?
Hi, I’m having a horrible week and have misoprostol tablets to take tonight to help my miscarriage. I had them a couple of years ago, and obviously it’s just dawned on me whether it’s safe to have them again, and if there’s any long term effects which would stop me getting/staying pregnant? Feel very

Updated Thyroid levels and new Vitamin readings
Hi, I recently posted as a Newbie (under the name Sailorbo, which I've now discontinued as I had a previous registration with the BHF). As a quick recap, had a full Thyroidectomy last September due to Papillary Cancer. I'm not having Radioactive Iodine as I already have poor saliva and it might make

March 17th 2021 carted off to Wolverhampton from home in North Shropshire with a NSTEMI. Very quick one hour journey with blues and twos angioplasty and stent. Back home the following day. They did an echocardiogram a couple of weeks later and told me all was well. Then referred back to the local hospital

I saw the recent post about coming off Bisoprolol and Isosorbide. I’m on 10mg of Bisoprolol and 100mg of Isosorbide, the isosorbide was increased from 40mg daily to 100mg about 2 months ago. I felt fine at first, but in the last 2 weeks have found it harder to walk very far, and never up slight inclines

Exercise and moderately leaky aortic valve
Morning all, happy Sunday! I’d just like to ask, as some of you may know, I have a moderately leaky aortic valve. (Had a stent fitted to fix a 90% blockage in LAD last Nov). I only found out about the valve issue in March this year so will have annual echo’s from now on. Of course have been focussing

Feeling sick after having HA and having Stent fitted
After having a stent fitted after a HA 3 weeks ago, I was discharged with the normal drugs to control the condition. The first couple of weeks I have felt find accept for feeling dizzy from the meds which I know is one of the side effects. But the last 4 days I have been feeling sick in the mornings

RLS Meds & Post-Surgical complications
I had a knee replacement a year ago. It went well, except my doctor took me off my Tramadol, 100 mg/3 per day, while keeping me on my 100 mg, 3x/day Pregabalin—it works well together. Instead he had me on 5 mg of Oxycodone every 4 hours. He thought the Oxycodone would an effective substitute for the

Leg Claudication
Does anyone else have issues with leg pain when walking. I am trying to walk a mile a day and always have leg pain. I suspect peripheral artery disease. Is Peripheral artery disease a part of GCA/PMR?
