I am so sorry for everything you have been through. I have always done multiple transfers previously with my OE. I was always told my chances were increased as long as the embryos were of a similar quality. I hate to say it though I am sure I have read on here people who have been told different! I guess it also depends a little on how many you have in the freezer.
I have been told FETs have a slightly higher rate the fresh transfers as your body is less battered and bruised and so a less hostile environment. Obviously you need to be comfortable with the risk of twins too.
I don't think I have helped there !? Good luck whatever you choose xx
Thanks for the response! Always good to hear others experience! I seen one study that said one could impact the other, as in the lower grade spoiling the better one and body just gets rid of both. But then other studies showed increased chances of live birth with double.
I have three in the freezer so wound be left with one if this fails. Xx
If you have three left in the freezer, you could always do a single then follow it with a double (although fingers crossed the first one sticks anyway)? However, on your 6th transfer I'd be tempted to just throwing everything at it (e.g. two embryos) and hopefully speed things up.
We did a double with our last two embryos and fifth transfer, which were the worst quality we had. We didn't expect either to stick and both did - so definitely be comfortable and ready for twins!
Either way, I don't think there's a wrong answer for your stage in your journey. You have to do what feels right for you. Best of luck xx ❤️
Thank you and congrats on your twins! I did think about one, then a double transfer but I’m also tempted to just go for two now, no time like the present and all that!
I do think we’ve got support if both did stick so that’s not a worry I’m worried more about the stories of one affecting the other but it seems like only one study compared to others which show general chances increase, so it’s more about the mental side for me I think.
Sounds like a plan to me! Are your grades very different?
If it helps (although obviously this isn't a scientific study), mine were a day 5 3BB and a day 6 4CB. So both not great grades but also not that similar. I think overall your chances will increase - there's always going to be the general risk that one embryo doesn't develop how you'd want it to but I've seen plenty of stories where that doesn't affect the one that sticks. x
Being your 6th I’d be inclined to throw everything at it. We did this on our third FET. I had an endometrial scratch and a double transfer using one of our highest grade embryos and our lowest and we have twin boys from this transfer. It was a big decision weighing up risks and benefits! Good luck x
