First i have to say I am in PMR and GCA remission on no pred at the moment, touch wood.
So why am I hear? i recently fell forward, a bit like a tree falling . i landed on concrete, nose first. glasses rim went into my forehead , nose went into concrete and broke. blood everywhere. it settled like a jelly fish , congealing within a few minutes, so much so that when a friend hosed it down 10 minutes later the blood folded over rather than dispersing, power hose was required!
Does blood consistency have a link to PMR?
i had ECG at hospital and it was fine.
I am also interested in balance loss and reversing it.
thanks for reading this, i am really interested if anyone has similar experience.

I can't help with your questions, but so sorry to read of that fall and what must have been a real shock to the system. I do not lose my balance as such unless feeling a bit lightheaded but do seem to have problems with forward spatial awareness sometimes. Lost count of number of times glasses have been pushed into forehead by gardening incidents, car boot door etc.
There are a number of exercises available online to assist with balance - British Heart Foundation has some if I remember correctly. I use a balance board too.
Hi,I used to troubleshoot large medical machines that went down. The first question I asked was, what was the last change that was made to the instrument. So in your case, have you changed any prescriptions or added any new pills, shots or infusions? Changed your diet? Had any procedures recently? After you fell did anyone draw blood to check your blood cell count or chemistries?
Not sure what high PV would do to a puddle of blood!
"I had ECG at hospital and it was fine."
Possibly - but that was in the 4 minutes or so they looked at. It is the same as a picture taken out of a video - doesn't tell the whole story and certainly not what possibly happened at the time.
It sounds as if you have been having balance problems - have you? Reversing them depends on the underlying cause - do you remember anything from immediately before your fall? Was it purely mechanical - you tripped over something - or is there a question over that?
That fall did not sound like fun one little bit, so my sympathies indeed. Hope you're coming good and no further face planting will happen!
My first thought was whether you could have been quite dehydrated at the time of the fall? That might go a little way to explaining some of it perhaps? And from my own experience, it can certainly contribute to feeling lightheaded.
I should have said 4 months ago Igot trampled and fallen on by a horse . Broke L1 and L2 bled from L3 and squashed L4and L5 but luckily all of it mended fast , well bone wise. i walk as much as I can, keep my dogs off the lead and turned the horses into the field! it’s been a tough 2022. i earn my money with horses so it’s a shocker to follow 2 covid non trading years with this. Still I am incredibly lucky 🍀 to be on my feet.
this fall happened when i was standing still in my own back yard. ibrad just finished talking to a friend and before i could walk away , down i went . I remember the last third of the fall as i saw the ground approach and frantically tried to get my hands in place to save me, almost made it but not quite. My friend had looked away and by the time she looked back she saw me going down and shouted my name. i don’t remember hearing her and she has a voice like a fog horn!
I wasn’t dehydrated and had eaten. i wasn’t moving. now i am scared to go out or drive which is difficult because my husband works away and i live on a rural small holding. A week has passed an no more falls so maybe it’s all fine 😀
yes, I think the same, now to persuade my GP. since he won’t see me in person , I have to marshall my thoughts carefully for a very quick phone conversation.
Agree with SheffieldJane you do need more investigation…does your surgery have an email facility to contact them or eConsult? Sometimes it’s easier to compose what you want to get across in writing where you can think it through -rather than be rushed in a phone call.
Hopefully once GP has seen your written request they can follow up by phone.
That is very poor. Should it happen again - emergency services. Unexplained ?LOC MUST be investigated. Paramedics are probably far more use than the average GP.
