Being normal

In April 2021 I had an out of hospital cardiac arrest ,my husband did CPR and I had excellent treatment a stent fitted and luckily as one consultant said “was virtually unscathed “I take regular medication and try to walk regularly and eat sensibly.

Due to covid I did not have any face to face rehab just a few phone calls and did become a bit paranoid about travelling on public transport, my family encouraged me to go on holiday and I gradually started to do normal things.

I have just returned from a holiday in Florida ,I went on rides and swam in the wave pool in Typhoon Lagoon.I endured the flights always the worst part of a trip.

The insurance was extortionate I was concerned about the heat but it was a celebration for my husband’s 70th and my daughters 40th birthday which we had planned for ages .

I appreciate I am fortunate to be able to have managed to have the holiday both physically and financially but wanted to add to the forum a glimmer of hope that you can do normal things after a life threatening incident.
