I'm about to get the Mirena coil but I'm currently on the depo injection. I was wondering if it's ok to be on two contraceptions at once?
I'm thinking it might help with the transition and pain as I'm really struggling to get strong enough pain killers from my GP. They have prescribed mefenamic acid but it just makes me slightly sleepy and doesn't help much with the pain.

When i got my coil fitted i was also on the depo and it had another 4 weeks or so until it was due and i was advised it was fine to go ahead and get the coil fitted
Well it did but its now not in the right place so my pain is actually worse now. I have my 1st surgery booked in for a week and a half time to check if it is definitely endo and hopefully remove some if it is there and they are going to re fit the coil at the same time.
Hope the coil works for you i have heard alot of positive stories
Hello. I had mirena coil in during last excision and then when Endo returned less than 12 months later they had be on decapeptyl injections for second time. Sorry you’re having to go through all this too. Best wishes xxx
From my experience that's typical endo treatment unfortunately. I was on Mirena, Zoladex AND Mini Pill for my bleeding at one point. It sucks though as it really affected my mental health and made me feel awful.
I didn't realise we could be on different contraceptions at the same time. I'm sorry you had to go through that experience. I'll try mindful of my mental health
