Normal total T, lowish free T

Went to get some hormones blood work done.

Here are the result readings:

Total Testosterone: 654 ng/dl (264-892)

Free Testosterone: 11.6 pg/mL (9.3-26.5)

Estradiol: 21.7 pg/mL (11-43)

I really don’t know what to make out of those results as I don’t have any problems associated with sex drive or erectile function. In fact, I would consider myself quite the horny person. Yet I suffer from stuff like brain fog, lack of motivation, depressed mood, occasional tiredness and poor focus which often happen to be secondary effects of low T so I’m of the suspicion that my lowish free T has something to do with it . All my other blood work looks all good including thyroid, iron, cbc, inflammation markers, B vitamins and vitamin D.

For reference I’m 22 and 150 lbs.

I'll assume that you're from a European county. Your ranges are quite a bit different than the US.

Total T 250-1100 ng/dl

Free T 35-155 pg/ml

estradiol 15-30, 22 target

Even in the US these ranges differ from one place to another, but all are similar. For a 22 year old, many doctors would consider your testosterone Low. A healthy 22 year old would normally be over 1000 ng/di and probably even a lot higher. I've seen some at over 2000. Doctors has said that your Free T is what is floating freely in your blood stream and in our neck of the woods, that is low. Your estrogen seems quite normal. You should see an endocrinogist to check you out. They are the ones that are suppose to be experts in this field. There can be many things that can cause low T in a man.

I'm 65 and I have been on T replacement for 12 - 13 years. My doctors and I shoot for a Total T of 800-1000. and Free T of 100. My Free T runs about 275. We aren't too concerned about it, because Replacement Testosterone works differently in everybody. It's not an exact science. The one thing you have to remember is that if you do need to start T Replacement, it will be for life.
