A little bit about myself.....

I was diagnosed with underactive thyroid 5 years ago, since then I have had carpel tunnel surgery on both hands, arthroscopy surgery on left knee, steroid injections in both hips, diagnosed with spondylososis in upper spine, had numerous physio sessions for knees, hips, spine and shoulders. I have been back and forth to the Doctors complaining of numerous aches and pains in all different parts of my body and overall fatigue and memory loss. My blood tests for my thyroid have been in and out of range but for the last two months seem to be settled. I decided to Google my many symptoms and found Fibromyalgia was at the top of the list of possibilities... I presented this new found knowledge to my Doctor and she agrees..... she has prescribed amytriptalene 10mgs and sertraline 100mgs to be taken daily and also arranged for me to see a rheumatologist on the 8th October.

I seem to suffer the aches and pains more through the night, which results in lack of sleep and therefore I am more tired the following day... After reading your posts and blogs and the daily suffering of you all I am beginning to wonder whether I do have FM or not, I am still able to walk, swim, drive and generally get on with my life albeit slower and with less enthusiasm than before but that is probably age related ( I am 60). I am just so confused and not sure what to think.

You all seem to be suffering more than I do and my heart goes out to you all. I wish you many happy pain free days...

Soft and gentle hugs

Joan xx

Welcome Jaidee,

You sound quite mobile - try and keep everything moving it is the best way - some of us suffer more mobility problems from FM and other diseases that we have a long side. It is quite possible you have FM I myself also suffer from Osteoporosis, arthritis, stenosis of the spine . spondulitis, Nash so these contribute to a rather sedentary life ( excuse the spelling) I also have Fibro fog which is difficult to get used to. I am not harping on about me I just wanted to try and explain that lots of us have other conditions which when put with the Fibro find our selves pretty incapacitated..

Gentle hugs x gins :)
