Arthroscopy

I’m having an arthroscopy in 2 weeks for a torn meniscus. Should I stay on present dose, continue with next taper or increase dose prior to the operation? I’ll be out of hospital the same day but have been warned I will be in pain for a couple of weeks so not sure if sick day rules apply.

Hi, I had a knee arthroscopy around 12 days ago and my arthritis has flared up, mostly in the affected knee. I left it for a while in case it was just the op effects but pretty sure now that it is arthritis. Also my calf muscle has seized up, can that flare up too?

At last, today is the day I get my knee done (arthroscopy). Scary stopping anticoagulants for 2 days, but the cardiologist I spoke with last week did a good job reassuring me. Op being done under general anaesthetic. Am hoping it doesn’t trigger an af episode, before, after or during!

Currently waiting to have Botox for the migraines (to try and reduce the frequency & severity), surgery to have my metatarsals possible fused & also still arguing with my ortho surgeon in respects of having an arthroscopy on my knee (he is saying it is too risky, yet I had a full hysterectomy a few months

Just found this group for chronic pain, wondered if anyone has suffered with chronic ankle pain.I broke my ankle 13 years ago and always had pain after, had plate and 10 screws taken out then an arthroscopy to take scar tissue out. Still in pain.

Hi all, I was diagnosed with stage 4 arthritis in right knee after second arthroscopy in September 2018. I also have stage 3 in left. Now in late 50s but told too young for FKR. Not keen on having one to be fair. Have high BP, which went through the roof last op.

Even though I had arthroscopy and scans etc 3-4 years ago to rule out any kind of injury that might have caused the swelling, I still keep trying to convince myself that this is not RA!

I have a long history of having treatment for knee problems including 2 or 3 arthroscopy operations (I can’t remember exactly how many but at least 2), the last one being in 2010.

I am scheduled to have a private Arthroscopy on Thursday 12th Oct. I had a pre op appointment and had some bloods taken on 30th Sept.

He has requested an arthroscopy as he feels there may be some debris and he had similar pain before the op with debris from a damaged cartilage. I don’t know what to do as clearly there is something wrong but all the GPS and his consultant are just saying he needs to live with the pain.

Has anyone had a tendon transfer, and joint arthroscopy in their hands, and what was the outcome?

The same knee I also had a tear in the meniscus which was tidied up with knee arthroscopy. (I think the tear was from a really old injury from about 15 years prior). Since then until recently it's been all good. Then my right knee swelled up for no reason, no injury, no pain.

Sorry to trouble you all but am in a lot of pain in my knee,radiating down to my foot and pain outside thigh- am due arthroscopy on 3rd as have several meniscus tears.Pain, swelling and stiffness has been slowly getting worse Am currently on. 3 mg EC Pred and PMR seems stable- PMR since 2018 I saw

Nearly six weeks ago I had an arthroscopy on my right knee which has failed. I have had v bad pain in my leg as a result and am currently on morphine patches - not fully effective but better than nothing.

Am due to have an arthroscopy and repair as my knee MRI shows 3 separate areas of torn cartilage and a knee effusion- am in so much pain plus stiffness and swelling making walking v uncomfortable and gave to ge careful with every step My brother read me the riot act saying don’t go for surgery you could

I've got no balance in my leg since the arthroscopy, the hip muscle never regained consciousness and has caused all these other problems

Hi all, New to here but ive been suffering with arthritis in my left knee for years had two arthroscopy ooerations & was told recently im now down for a knee replacment but last year i was too young??!!! Apparently im now bone on bone but they have cancelled and now have to do pain management.

I have a need for total knee replacement- have already had arthroscopy on my meniscus and now bone on bone with arthritis on more than 60% of the femur/tibia. It has affected my life such that I want to have this procedure.

Hi, this is my first post in this forum, I used to be a Judo coach, but after a right knee arthroscopy 7 years ago and a left shoulder acromioclavicular stabilisation with lockdown about 5 years ago i was forced into retirement.

But all my physical tests colonoscopy, arthroscopy?,ct scan, ovarian scans all clear?. I'm awaiting epedeemiologist and rheumatologist appointments now and having a dexa scan tomorrow morning. Any ideas anyone as to low sats?? Is it a lupus thing?
