Had cortisone injection

Went to St Luke's yesterday was in and out. First attempt missed. Second didn't really hurt just more intense pressure. The Dr was very nice and friendly.

It was difficult to get to the hospital and parking.

We just got lucky.

I'm sore today but I have bursitis anyway..

I would recommend the procedure in the hip but remember it's day two.

For osteoarthritis I was being treated for.

Thanks hun 🙂. Do you know if cortisone alters your taste.? I can't taste anything sweet?Weird

Hugs Dawn 🤗

Just checked the NHS site and it’s not listed as a serious side effect but advises (as with any steroid) it can have other side effects.

However a Google search has brought up several instances of people reporting their sense of taste has been affected by cortisone!

Hope that helps

😊

I have to save up first 🙂 got my usual Fibro to contend with and the headache from hell. First I need to sleep lol. Let you know if I'm certain it's worth it 🙃

Ahh, bless, they only last a few months, and wear off, hopefully sleep will help you now though.

I didn't realise is have to limit myself if they work😉

Yes, they don’t last, they have to be topped up 🥴

Do please investigate the downside of too many steroid injections.

Yes the short term relief they give is very comforting, but long term effects should be considered. Bone density can be affected leading to Osteoporosis, which brings with it it’s own problems about drugs for that. Do discuss with your doctors.

I know but it'll give me time to save up. I also need a new tv one my carer will like.I don't get PIP yet or I could afford both next month.

I'm waiting til Labour get in then see which way they lean.

I hate being hated for no good reason.

How is the weather where you are?

Big Sis ,

I'm hoping I'm reading this wrong!

Why does your carer have to like the tv?

It's your next tv so carer has no choice, Let me know which you go for?

I'm using the main tv in my room as mine started to smoke, I stopped smoking in 2015 so no smoking in the house 😉 Hope your flare will calm❤️ I keep every 5 mins my feet then sciatica joined in, It's a nuscience (sorry cant spell) We are seriously thinking of getting a cleaner for a couple of days we need help, It's very overwhelming, I've brought a load of giant laundry bags so everything off the floor and get the rug doc out, Brain going a bit loopy today,

Started with the head ache now,😴😴 🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗 Little Sis xxx over 'n' out

Oh little Sis no worries, My carer and mate Jon bought the last 2 so it's my turn to get one. So it's only fair that he likes it. Sorry for the mix up....red faced.

Plus he'll look into it properly where as if just go for the biggest lol.

Don't u worry either Merrrm. Thank you for checking in.

Hugs little Sis 😍🤗Dawn

Excuse me for being nosy...but why do you have to get a TV that your carer will like?

did you have the scan guided steroid injection? I have the same condition, it definitely helped me 100% it’s been almost a year now and just twinging again but I’m ignoring it !!!! My dr said I can only have 3 in my whole life !!! So I won’t be getting another anytime soon!! Hope you feel much better ❤️‍🩹

It's only day 3 and I'm flaring. Can you believe it. The injection area is slightly sore but better🤗 but my body made me 😢 at 3 a.m.I'm hurting in New places lol. I have to laugh or cry more.

How are you hun ?🙂 Dawn

I’m like a washing machine going round and round all night in bed !! I’m in pain all day every day , but I fight it with my determination to keep going , believe me it’s not easy , I jiggle my meds to get me through each day as I have to stand all day in my job ( it’s actually worse if I sit down I can’t get going again easily 😂) I’d love to wake up pain free one day but it’s doubtful,

However I’m sure you will benefit from the steroid injection, it probably just takes a few days to kick in take care & keep fighting 💪🏼

Ur days sound like mine. Juggling meds. My carer doesn't approve but that is like saying I don't get to have any little relief. Sod that. I do fight but some days weeks are almost impossible.Thank you for your reply 🤗🤗Dawn 😍

I have to have one in my shoulder and am dreading it. Most of the time when I have an injection I end up in a flare. I've been told by a Dr that its because the injection can hit nerves and that flares the fibro. It happens to me when I go the dentist and it happened when I had acupuncture. Hoping this next one isn't to bad.

I'm due a couple in my sacroiliac joints next month. Had my knee injected years ago and one sacroiliac joint and then got forgotten about. Hopefully this helps the continuous pain in lower back.
