Well Wednesday evening saw me have yet another setback, I have lost my speech , have really bad chest pain and am totally exhausted and now the base of my left foot has gone numb. I had a MRI on my brain 2 weeks ago and get the results middle of december and I really hope I get some answers. This is the 3rd bad do in the last 6 weeks and I am now so depressed and am finding it hard to carry on. Having no speech is so isolating and makes it difficult for people to visit only one good friend has been in to see me so I just wait for texts. I live with my 17 year old son and I can tell he is really worried but when I ask him he says he is fine. I can put up with the pain if I have too but the loneliness is getting too much. Sorry to moan but at least on this site I can say how I really feel. Hope you are all having the best day you can x

Had enough!!!!!!!!!!!!
So sorry to hear about your setback. Hope you get the answers you need. I am sure your son is worried but is trying to keep strong for you. Is there anyone else you can talk to.We are all here to support you in any way we can. Sending you healing thoughts and hugs xx
Thank you xxx
O goodness poor you!! You must be finding it so frightening, lonely and isolating without the power of speech. Hopefully this is a temporary setback and you will soon be back sining into your hairbrush in front of the mirror ( yep we all do it ) untill then why dont you try putting your thoughts feeling and emotions down on paper - keep a journal, write a poem or draw a pic this will allow you to communicate without straining your vocal chords. Im sure your son is worried about you but hes gotta do the whole macho man thing and Pretend all is fine.
Hopefully your test results will reveal the issue and it will be simple and treatable. Untill then dont forget were here for you take care big hug

oh bless you, and here's me moaning on about my hair cut!!! Thats a long time to wait for results of MRI scan I had one 28th oct this year and 9 days later the results were back at my gp surgery. I would phone just on the off chance they have the results so that you can but your mind at rest and your sons.Take care of you vikki xx
Thank you I am at my GPS on tuesday to get my blood test results and I will ask him if he can get them for me. He is always very helpful. This is the third time I have lost my speech and both times before it took 2 weeks to come back I just hope it doesnt take so long this time. I should have been going to my daughters on Tuesday she lives in Bristol but unless things book up quickly I wont be driving 220 miles! x x
Oh my goodness, you poor thing! Yes, your GP might have direct access to the database at the hospital and can get the results faster for you (that is how it works in my area anyway). I do so hope that your doctors can help you to get through this bad patch and restore your powers of speech. Can your daughter come to you instead? That is a long way to drive if you are feeling so bad even if you have been looking forward to it. Please stay strong, you have been through so much lately and your fortune will change for the better very soon I am sure. All best wishes and lots of gentle hugs to you. Jane x
Thank you my daughter cant come to me because my grandchildren are 8,7,6 and 4 months! So she is very busy still I will just have to come to terms with the fact that I can go another time x
