I have been getting worse after Covid infection in December and have been going to GP with chest pains tightness pains in across top of my back told increase gaberpentin.
this week went to see GP and said I need blood test to check vitamins as getting worse and like drained and exhausted so they came back and reported below min vitamin d so now given 50,000 UI vitamin d3 and see if this helps seems too high should I be concerned by the high level and is it safe
has anyone else had experience with taking high levels of this vitamin d for six weeks?
I was surprised no doctor thought to check this with me off work with post covid and still cough and symptoms
Thank you ๐

HiNot for myself but my Mum did and it made a big difference in improving her mood as well as bring up necessary vit D level. She had no negative side effects.
In week 4 it was like the sun had come out. I hope it helps.
Hi there , Vitamin D at that dose is fine for short term. I had it before myself and since everyday I have to take a ' normal ' dose of it - it's on repeat prescription. When it comes to covid and fybro = very bad combination. I have long covid and my life never been the same since. As you said chest pains , exhausted all the time but it's to the level when I can hardly move sometimes. Brain fog worsened is well. I was advised to take B12 ,but had blood test before to see the level of B12 in me. Since then I'm on it. Well I wish you all the best , be strong and continue to fight it !
Hi double Malibu yes I have lupus and now fibromyalgia advised on last hospital visit. The worst thing is trying to work and wanting to get back to normal very frustrating then it flaws you like being beaten up by an invisible enermy do what ya can๐๐๐ป thatโs life!
Debsdelight72 sorry to hear youโre not feeling any better. I hope you had a blood test after the two weeks to check your vit d levels if not best check with doctor.
Iโm on 50,000IU one tab a week for three weeks then blood test to check levels then another three weeks the same then blood test if ok then one a month for maintenance.
Geeforce99 No follow up bloods after, I have low zinc and theGP has put me on a ststin as well now, I'll give it another couple of weeks and if I don't feel any better I'll go back
hi yes I was put on a high dose of vit d as my appetite was so bad I was lacking in a lot of vitamins etc. Felt much better once I'd finished the course of vit D.
Geeforce99 I am having the same. Caugth covid Jan 1st and the past 11 weeks been a complete nightmare with all kinds of symtoms but dyspnea, asthma-like issues and chest tightness (even diapraghm tightness/cramps). And i never had asthma or experienced any SOB before for 43 years.
