Covid and flu injections

Has anyone else had this problem. I received my 4th Covid jab and flu one in the same day nearly two weeks ago. Up until then I had been having a lovely time busy seeing friends and family and a short break away. Lots of walking.

However since having the two jabs have been feeling very unwell with headache, nausea, burning hot with night sweats, freezing feet, shivering, sharp pains, dull aches, dry mouth, dry skin and extreme fatigue. I’m unsure whether this is fibro, the reaction to the two injections or something else. I also have coeliac disease and under active thyroid and take thyroxine. I have made a telephone appointment with the doctor in two weeks time as I haven’t seen a consultant regarding coeliac for about twenty years and thought t would sort that out first. I have 3 monthly B12 injections for that and also had Vitamin D deficiency. Is fibromyalgia making feel this ill ? I don’t know what to do? Am just resting and have no motivation to do much at all.

both the flu and COVID vaccinations affect B12.

I would try and get more B12 , and report via the yellow card for adverse reaction.

those sound like the side effects of the vaccinations,

the covid vaccinations always spark my fibro to worsening everything. aching joints, heat, cold, feeling lousy, headache, and fatigued, speedy visits .

sadly having both on same day has certainly kick started the immune system you have the man man flu and some, still better than the real deal. Can ring 111 to discuss your issues sooner,

read a fictional book crikey a bodyguard, writer had the character as someone who made vaccines was interesting how the character explain it 'adjuvants', most of the book was action and other stuff.

hope feel better soon.

Hi. I had my booster last Saturday and have been Ill too. Hot and cold sweats, banging headache and upset stomach and I’ve slept the week away. These are all normal reactions apparently but less common. I also think it triggers a flare of the fibromyalgia, for me it does anyway. I only had the Covid booster, and I had Pfizer this time. My flu jab is due today but I am postponing it, I am usually unwell for a couple of days when I have the flu jab. The good news is I am told it means your body is mounting a good immune response.

I have fibromyalgia and I also had COVID vaccine and flu vaccine together(one on each arm). I had no symptoms other than sore arms for three days after the vaccines. Everyone is different. I am sorry you reacted strongly to them and hope you get back to your baseline soon. Take care.

Why would anyone give a flu jab and covid jab on the same day? You are giving your body a tremendous burden.

Sorry to read this it does sound like after effects of having both, I’ve still too have my flu as thought I would leave a gap in between, I have heard that that some that have had both jabs have felt wiped out, glad you are speaking too the doctor about getting on top of some checks with the consultant, take it easy and hope you pick up very soon xx

It sounds like a severe reaction to the vaccinations, which have probably triggered Mast Cell Activation Syndrome and circulatory problems. My daughter (who was suffering from CFS & Fibro) had an even worse reaction to her first Covid vaccination last year and has been bedbound ever since without any help from the NHS! I do hope you soon get over this and don't carry on suffering like her. Anyway, I paid a private functional medicine specialist this year and she has stabilised a lot in the last 6 months with the help of Mast cell stabiliser (Ketotifen). Because she has histamine sensitivity/Mast Cell Activation disorder she also recommended a low histamine diet (no fermented foods/yoghurts etc & only fresh foods). She's been taking 3 half tablets of Ketotifen as Zatiden 1mg each day, which seems to have cured her night & day sweats and reduced her fast heart-rate and circulatory problems. We get this antihistamine prescription from the NHS, so if you're in the UK, you should also be able to get it from your surgery. Good luck!

Same here, Pam, just that this MCAS is also a good explanation for all oversensitivities of gut and skin I've always had, decades before fibro. Both jabs triggered 25 new / changed symptoms, a few similar to fibro, a lot very different, like burning and nausea if I move around.... First jab Nov 30th, after 72 days only 70% recovered - second jab Feb 10th, till now only 50% recovered - 3rd jab planned for Nov 7th - undaunted, CoV would be even worse for my body.

i had astra zenica for first two..third was American one moderna ..made me so ill. My arm went solid then I could not cool down worst temperature in my life my son was soaking tea towels in cold water for head and neck .took ibroprufin as I absolutely ached all over worse than having flu . He had to help me down stairs at 2 in morning for cold shower..was ill all weekend headaches... And my eyeballs were on fire and scratchy I cried.. I had more cold showers.

by Monday I was coughing up green phlegm ...rang Doc's.. didn't want to see me due to symptoms even though I told him was injection..h.

e left out antibiotics..took over a week for me to feel any better and made my fibromyalgia flare up and was bad for a month..am dreading the booster as this did frighten me.

.I have emailed surgery to see if I can have the Pfizer one or find out where I can go locally to get it while my husband is home to take me..

Plus only if my son can come as stay incase I am bad again as just couldn't cope on my own if bad as my husband useless and not too good himself urinating blood clots.
