Hello!
I went yesterday to the clinic to have my hysteroscopy post-op thinking (rather foolishly) that it would be straightforward and I could get on with the rest of my life, but alas no. I've now found out that I have hyperplasia (but not atypical) and will need the mirena coil (Oh! The irony!) for the next 6 months to calm my endometrium down (thanks estrogen and early perimenopause - yay!). I was just wondering if anyone else had had this, and wether it was bothersome or a worry, etc? On a positive note (:-S), the consultant said that the treatment would be a good opportunity to prepare the lining for egg donation which I have planned for in the new year (apparently dodgy linings can reduce the chance of implantation). Has anyone experience of this either? Apparently I'm a slight anomaly as my BMI is good (every silver lining, eh?).
I know that I'm not anywhere near as far along as others in terms of their "IVF journey" (more like the Krypton Factor, the Crystal Maze and Mastermind combined and everyday), but there is nothing like infertility to take the fun out of EVERYTHING. I had come to terms with the "you have the square root of no eggs" situation thinking that everything else was in good order, but now that's not playing ball either. The hyperplasia is a reminder of my geriatric and non child status, which sucks.
Any advice would be greatly received. Props to everyone for doing their best in unfathomably rubbish situation.
xx
