Mirena

Hi I was just wondering if anyone has had the mirena and been prescribed Desogestrel (progesterone only pill). If so what was your experience like with it ? As I’m still getting a lot of pain with the mirena and was advised this would be the best option.

I have had so many blood tests but all have come back normal so I can only think I have hormonal imbalance from the Mirena. Has anyone else had the Mirena removed and if so did you suffer a crash or symptoms after?

Is it the mirena or my age? I begged for them to try again after a few failed mirena attempts and now I'm worried it's making me crazy.

I’m struggling to make a decision between getting the Mirena or doing the laparoscopy. I have struggled for very long with pain and was never diagnosed. It has now severely impacted my digestive tract. Will just doing Mirena improve or maintain symptoms.

I was fitted with the mirena coil as I was advised that this should hel keep the endo at bay. I am also type one diabetic. I am wondering if anyone has any experience with the mirena and if they found it helpful? Or if anyone also has type one and has any advice on managing 2 chronic conditions?

Has anyone else had a positive pregnancy test with the mirena coil. A couple of years ago the day after Xmas I had severe cramping and stomach pains, more at night time. Obviously having the coil I didn't even think of pregnancy so I ignored the pains.

I've been asked if I'd consider the mirena coil which they'd put in during the lap but I've always been very unsure about it. I have suffered with low moods and depression before so one of my biggest concerns is it's effect on moods.

I ve had the Mirena for 3 years when I had my son in 2021 and before that I had it for 4 years . Results said i have hyperthyroidism,see below. I read that Mirena can cause it, but I have never had no issues with Mirena.

Hi, I’ve just had Mirena fitted as part of HRT regime. I’m 46 and peri-menopausal. The bloating I’ve had the past few days has been off the scale. I look pregnant. It’s so uncomfortable. I’m quite lean in build so it’s really noticeable.

I’m going to book a gp appt Monday and I’m supposed to be seeing the gynae in Jan, Just wondered- did anyone else find that Mirena exacerbated existing MH issues?

Hi there I've had endometriosis for 20 years now,had mirena coil 15 years. I had coil changed in march after failure ablation surgery,I've been still am having a period with bleeding every 2 weeks. I'm starting prostap injection and hrt patches tomorrow.

We were discussing having my Mirena out and going on Dienogest and having another MRI to consider surgical options until I mentioned I'm having perimenopause symptoms.

The Endometriosis Clinic has recommended that I put the Mirena Coil in the meantime to help with this. Is anyone using or has used the Mirena Coil for these reasons and could you please share your experience with me? Thank you very much in advance. Xxx

hi all, I had my mirena coil removed 3 days ago as my cycles become atypical and I want a clearer idea of whether it’s the coil or body doing this as we ideally might start trying to conceive later this year so wanted to get it out and settled first before we start trying.

Hi, I was diagnosed with endo earlier this year and had excision surgery. Due to continued bowel symptoms I had an MRI following my surgery which shows that I still have active rectovaginal endometriosis so I’m waiting to be seen by the specialist endo team. I agreed to try the coil whilst waiting for

After a diagnosis stage 4 endometriosis in 2016, I was fitted with a Mirena coil, which I'm happy to report was an absolute game changer in what had become a debilitating condition. I'm now in my mid 40s and on HRT (oestrogel) for classic menopausal symptoms since 2021.
