Mini pill

hi everyone. I tried noriday mini pill for just under 3 mths but I bled a lot and was quite angry on it 🤦‍♀️ I stopped taking it a week before my holiday in august, as I was worried it would ruin it with all the bleeding. However I saw my gynea 2 weeks ago for my mri follow up. My endo is severe stage 4, with thick adhesions in the pouch of Douglas and rectosigmoid junction. Plus a 1.8cm nodule near the mesorectal fascia. Plus signs of adenomoysis. With all that I don’t have severe pain p, just more discomfort. ( back ache, occasional cramps, nipping and pulling pains). I’ve not really had a proper period since my lap in may. I’m looking to try the pill again as I’m worried about things getting worse and the other options of chemical menopause and full hysterectomy seem very drastic. (Needing bowel surgery scares me as my mum has a colostomy bag). He also re mentioned coil but I worry about that not agreeing and not being able to get it out quickly! Anyway back to pill. For those that have tried noriday, how long did it take to settle? Did bleeding eventually stop and mood settle? Thanks

Hi, I've been takingN Noriday for just under 3 months, I'm on 2 pills a day. I did have 2 very heavy periods and lots of pain in the first 6 weeks, then no pain and light bleeding for 2 weeks. That stopped a few days ago but I have been getting the odd niggling pain now and again which I'm hoping will settle down. It affected my mood at first, I was very tearful but that is now better. I guess everyone reacts differently but I was told that this particular pill does take a long time to work so might be worth another try if you can stick it out for a bit longer. I had taken it before but came off it after 2 weeks due to bleeding, I found the side effects difficult but this time they have improved. It's best to go with your gut feeling, you could always try a different pill instead.

Hope that helps

thanks for replying . I’ve no holidays coming up this time so I’ll give another try. I’ll start it on my next period as last time I started mid cycle, see if that makes a difference. I do have a thick lining so it might take longer to shed. Will see if I can stick it for 6 mths!

Hi, I don't know anything about the mini pill, but remember that I didn't get on with the pill in any form. I wonder if you have heard about bioidentical progesterone cream? It's made by a company called Wellsprings and its called Serenity. I am post menopause, and having problems so I am currently trying this. Less side effects I think, but if you havent heard of it have a read up about it on their website, there's a book available too.

Hiya,

I take x2 of the Progesterone only pill a day (Cerelle/ Desogestrel) It took a few months for the bleeding to settle but eventually I didn't bleed anymore. I feel low on it and get the some of the usual pill side effects but for me they are more managable than the endo/adeno pain and symptoms at the moment. I have the same as you, bowel stuck to womb, a rectovaginal nodule and POD. This pill has allowed me to work basically as it halts ovulation and periods it slows the growth of the endo down as well which I take huge comfort in!
