Hysterectomy

Hi, I’m booked in for a hysterectomy next month. Over the past 18 months I’ve had 2 laparoscopies due to cysts, and I also had one ovary removed.

Hysterectomy update

Hi, so I had my hysterectomy on Monday. It went well though when they opened me up they found things were worse than expected. The cyst had grown from 6cm in December to 12cm. The surgeon showed me photos afterwards, I couldn't believe how big it was.

hysterectomy advice

I had been given the decapeptyl injection which was wonderful and I was pain free for the first time in 10yrs. have asked for this injection again and refused due to my age (42) looking to see if anyone has fought for a hysterectomy as I feel other methods aren't successful and this may b my only relief

Bleeding post hysterectomy

Hi, I just wondered if anyone suffered from spotting 2 weeks post hysterectomy? I am having terrible issues with my bowel so I am having to go to the loo a lot more than a normal person so I’m worried this has done something bad to the vaginal stitches.

Post Hysterectomy Support

What I've found is that there's not a lot of support available post hysterectomy. It just felt like it was a case of 'you're all fixed now , be on your way'. When emotionally I'm far from fixed and i'm extremely depressed.

Hysterectomy on nhs

Hi I’m new to this platform but wanted to know if anyone had any tips on how they went about requesting a hysterectomy from their gp? I’m aware this may be unlikely as I’m only 18 but all the treatment I’ve been given hasn’t helped my pain much.

Endo surgery?

The recommended action now is a hysterectomy as all other avenues are exhausted. I don’t want to go through this radical surgery if it’s not going to improve the pain. Is it best just to have the endo treated via surgery first then see how it goes before full hysterectomy?

Endometriosis diagnosed, awaiting hysterectomy

Hi, I was diagnosed with Endometriosis 4 weeks ago and have been told that I will need a hysterectomy. I have now been referred for an MRI scan and Kidney scan before I will have a face to face appointment with the Gynaecologist. Has anyone else had this and how long did this take?

Dienogest or Hysterectomy?

My surgeon wants me to at least try dienogest but in my head I feel, if I'm going to go on a contraceptive (i know its not Registered in the UK as one) I may as well just have a hysterectomy now as ultimately that's where im headed.

HRT AFTER A HYSTERECTOMY

Hi, I'm 12 days post surgery and physically recovering well. The hrt patches are working as to I'm not having hot flushes but don't feel right. Does this mean I need different ones or is it still early days. Any advice would be gratefully recieved xx

Kind of wondering…

Had a hysterectomy last October 28th. Last month my rheumatologist ran usual blood tests (I get them every 3 months.). And it shows my hemoglobin is low again! 🤷‍♀️ I had the hysterectomy to solve that problem.

Hysterectomy 3 weeks ago

Hi all, I had a laparoscopic hysterectomy, removal of everything and extensive endometriosis nearly 3 weeks ago now. My stomach is still so very sore and swollen. I’m still taking painkillers, but I was just wondering whether anyone else who may have had this done has experienced the same? Thanks

Compression garment

Full hysterectomy and removal of the momentum, they are cutting me from Belly button down to my pubic bone. Not sure which to buy and can't find the correct information. Thank you. Angela.

No information about Hysterectomy

I’m due to have a hysterectomy but have not had any information or discussion how this surgery is to take place or what to expect or how to prepare and how to aid recovery. Is this normal?

Post-hysterectomy

I am 4 days post op following my hysterectomy - this was successfully carried out laparoscopicly and my tubes, uterus and cervix were taken. With the exception of one being adhered to something, my ovaries looked relatively healthy so I kept them.
