Hysterectomy

Hiya ladies just a quick one I'm down for a hysterectomy and I was wondering how long will I wait to have my operation after sending off my pre assignment to you surgery letter? Xx

and then I had a phone call from consultant the next day suggesting it as I’ve had the coil two years and still struggling with pain and heavy periods to consider a hysterectomy to treat my issues.

I am scheduled for a possible full hysterectomy after exploratory surgery. I am very nervous and know it will be worse on day of surgery. To know I may be woken up to a cancer diagnosis is my fear. I know everything will change and life will so different for my kids.

I have a private appointment tomorrow and want a hysterectomy as soon as possible. What questions would you ask? What do you wish you had talked through before surgery? Waiting list is around a year on NHS in my trust, private seems about 6-8 weeks but is around 10k. Has anyone gone private?

Im thinking of going private for a hysterectomy. I swear you wouldn't let a dog live like this. You'd put an animal down. I'm crying in pain and not sure what to do. Has anyone opted for private healthcare??

i have had full hysterectomy on 5th feb and already feel like a new woman Ive had every thing removed pain is there but nothing like the chronic pain ive been living with relieved its done now recover and get my life back / good riddance to ENDO

Has anyone had a robotic hysterectomy (Da Vinci)? It's for stage 4 endometriosis and they need to separate my organs and remove cervix (full of fibroids), ovaries with endometrioma and free my small bowel and rectum which has been pulled high through the lesions.

My thoughts are hysterectomy but unsure of what the benefits would be and if symptoms would inface get any better. I have a family history of fibroids and endometriosis.

I've read a research paper that suggests that it is contraindicated in deep infiltrating endo after hysterectomy. Thoughts? Thanks all

A few months after my hysterectomy the bowel and pelvic pain that I had been having before my hysterectomy returned so I saw my endo surgeon a few days ago.

I'd just really like to hear women's experiences of what it does post hysterectomy and if you managed to take HRT. Thanks everyone x

I’m 46 years old and have my family but I’m very reluctant to have the recommended hysterectomy. I’m worried about increased cancer risks, osteoporosis and cardio vascular disease (the last two are prevalent in my family).

Also any tips on recovery, my surgeon told me I’m having a laparoscopic hysterectomy but the hospital sent me the preparation leaflet for an abdominal hysterectomy- so that’s another question I need answered. many thanks.

Hi, This might be a silly question but does anyone know if your immune system can be affected following a total hysterectomy (uterus and ovary removal)? I had a hysterectomy in August last year and since then I’ve had tonsilitis and a cold that just won’t go. I feel so run down and miserable.

(Apologies if this is TMI) I am 19 days post full hysterectomy at 31. My recovery has been good so far and I am feeling good. I was extremely constipated a couple of days ago and I had to take extra laxido.

I had a hysterectomy (ovaries left intact), 31st july 24, due to ongoing pain and difficulties, again nothing showed on my scans but showed up in theatre.

my daughter is to have a hysterectomy and the waiting list round here is at least twelve months I want to offer to pay for the op but does anyone have any idea of the cost? I’ve seen quoted £7800 but this presumable excludes consultation etc etc?

I’m currently on 5mg Prednisolone and have a pre op appointment next week for a prolapse a possible hysterectomy . Has any one in this group had the procedure with PMR ?

A scan revealed that I also had adenomyosis which is why I ended up having a hysterectomy as the Prostap infections didn’t work, thus, the endo wasn’t the main cause of my symptoms. Having the Hysterectomy was the best decision of my life.
