Polycythemia Vera & Menstruation

I used to have a copper iud and would have very heavy periods. Could my heavy blood loss have been masking my PV? I then got a hormonal iud which has made my natural blood loss become almost nonexistent.

Postpone period whilst 6 months into IUD

I have had the Mirina IUD for 6 months now as a treatment for Endo after surgery and still getting monthly bleeds. When I was taking the pill I would take a back to back packet if I wanted to postpone a bleed for a holiday or important weekend. How can I do this on IUD? THANK YOU IN ADVANCE šŸ˜€

IUD Copper Coil - Worth it or not?

Taking this into a count I am a bit afraid to get copper coil IUD knowing the side effects. What would be your advice for me?

IUD copper coil

I had the copper coil for 5 years, I thought I had no problems with it until it came out very recently. I found that I had very low mood and was very anxious when I had it in, but I thought it was unrelated to the coil, however when it came out I felt loads better, I had it out for 5 weeks before getting

Can anyone help?

I’ve tried the pill and an IUD, hormone injections and I am on cocodamol as well and nothing seems to be working. Is anybody able to give any advice on what I would be able to do regarding lifestyle changes and how to deal with the pain? X

Hormones affecting vaginal dryness

I’m considering going on the copper IUD but all I hear are negative things. Clearly there’s downsides to any contraceptive. But just wanted peoples advice or their own personal experiences.

Potential endo and non-hormonal IUD

I got the non-hormonal IUD fitted in last year and I love it, it has made my period a tiny bit worse but it has always been bad. When I was talking to my gyno about the referral, it was as if they were pushing me against a lap.

Adenomyosis NI

Only option was Mirena IUD (which I already have) and mini pill (which I took for a year and never again, turned out I have progesterone intolerance). Having to go privately with Benenden thanks to the length of the waiting lists and just looking for some guidance. Thanks!

Induced menopause

Hello, I am going into induced menopause after having a laparoscopy, IUD, contraceptive implant and taking progesterone tablets for a year. Could anyone tell me their experience. What should I expect? I am 24 years old so am nervous about ruining my chances of pregnancy. Thanks

Has anyone tried having both the IUD and pill at the same time? What was your experience?

Hi all, I hope you’re doing well šŸ¤ My surgeon recently has recommended taking the pill on top of the IUD to try manage the endo/adeno pain that is coming back two fold.

Mirena IUD

One for the ladies…….. Hi all, I’m after a little advice. I hope someone can help. I have RA and fibromyalgia and take hydrox, methotrexate & amitriptyline. Like many of you my condition causes my blood ā€˜stores’ to get low. (I’m told this isn’t the same as anaemia but it does make me feel pretty

Pelvic Inflammatory Disease - how to recover?

Maybe caused by copper IUD?? I am 45 years old and was very active and busy up until mid April this year. Regular 5-8 km running and upwards of 10,000 steps per day. No health issues. Had copper coil fitted in 2013.

However I am apprehensive to have my IUD taken out a year early because I have Anxiety (currently taking medication) and I’ve heard/read about the ā€œMirena crashā€. Any tips or advice from somebody who has experienced it or is more informed than me?
