Annual check up - anyone good with recipe ideas?!
Hubby had annual check up with gastro consultant on Friday. We are utterly blessed to have the most sensible, supportive consultant, who out of all the consultants we see (hubby has 3, I have 1) is our favourite. He is concerned about the amount of weight hubby has put on, much of which we expected

Supplement absorption
I posted the other day about being newly diagnosed and I received loads of brilliant support and advice from people on here about supplements and lifestyle changes that can help with PD progression. I haven’t yet managed to do all the recommended reading but I’m working on it. I’m still looking into

type 2
has anyone on here with cirrhosis had type 2 diabetes? I am now on insulin but the doctor said I should be able to get off the shots hopefully in a few months. I’ve been on for 2 days and it definitely is reacting to the shots. My nurse said it normally takes 4-4 days but I’ve already seen it improve

PD: the gut, covid, etc.
Good afternoon, I was diagnosed with PD by DatScan 3 weeks ago (age 50). As I'm sure is standard at this stage in my diagnosis, I am trying to navigate my way through the wealth of information out there. I am fluctuating between self-pity, defiant positivity, and utter bewilderment. I’m so very grateful

Hi I haven't posted in a while my husband was diagnosed in May 2019 with decompensated liver disease. Went for transplant assessment but too high risk. He had also gained a huge amount of weight which with him needing two knee replacements meant he was in a wheelchair. Long story short it was looking

cortisol blood test tips?
Any suggestions to adhere to for ‘9 am cortisol’ blood test being done at 7.40 tomorrow? I believe it is regarded as Addison’s or not, and nothing in between, so is there nothing that can be suggested to Gp if low but not too low? Did a private saliva test test some years ago now( pre covid) it was

DIGOXIN
Any thoughts on the drug Digoxin please. Currently my drug regime is not controlling my rates, resting rate should be 60 as set by my pacemaker but for the past 6 days it has been erratic, also finding that the diuretic I take is not dealing efficiently with my fluid overload. Due to see cardiac specialist

Looking for feedback on taking bone meds. with teeth issues.Who has developed necrosis of jaw?
I am finishing the 2 Year bone shot Forteo. I need to start the next medication, something like prolia. Because I have a history of teeth problems, I am really scared of the drugs that can cause necrosis of the jaw. I would appreciate hearing from anyone who has developed this. I have had pmr for

Diabetes
I have been pre diabetic for years. With careful management it has stayed at 42. Now, since PMR & Pred from November2023, it's jumped to 46... despite huge cuts in anything sweet and also cutting most carbs. 48 is consistent with diabetes. Has anyone done the Michael Mosely diet? I know nothing about

co-amilofruse
Hoping someone can give some advice. My partner had a double CABG eight weeks ago. After the surgery he was put on co-amilofruse, to be reviewed at his follow-up with the surgeon. Prior to the surgery he was on furosemide. We understand that co-amilofruse is a diuretic and will obviously cause him

curious any hypothyroid diabetics experience out there?
22+ years of both Hashi and diabetes (Type 3c)…Gp has cut my levo from 100 to 75, and I’ve kept the T3 (5x3) as he is convinced that my high HR is from ‘overmedication on levo’ ( long story involving 4 1/2 years long covid)…felt obliged to take lower dose to shut him up and get referred to correct drs

PBC and Cholesterol
My total cholesterol level has shot up to 6.39. My internist wants me on a statin (Atorvastatin) with it's many negative side effects. I've been researching other cholesterol lowering medication options and many sites (including the Mayo Clinic) list bile acid sequestrants - including Cholestyramine

Blood Sugar Level
I was diagnosed and started taking C/L this past June (25/100 3x daily) and since then have noticed an increase in my fasting glucose level. I usually stay a bit under 100 but now I am usually over that sometimes as high as around 110. Is this a common side effect of taking the med or PD in general.
