Good Afternoon everyone! Wed. I have my first colonoscopy. I can not stop googling. I have stomach issues and the amount of IBD in my family from Diviticulosis, Chrones, Colitis. My aunt had colon cancer but survived. I am so nervous of the results. I know I am doing the right thing but I am still afraid. Would love to get some insight

Colonsocopy

I know exactly how you are feeling, I have had an impacted bottom for two months, and I’m ibs-d not sure how that happened, anyway my sampl test came back abnormal, not surprising the amount of laxido I was taking to shift it.
So I am now going for my 2nd endoscopy, honestly they give you a sedative if you want it and numb the area, it’s very straight forward, if they see anything like a polyp, they will take a snip, you can also ask to watch it. Before you know it it’s done.
We have history in our family too, but sometimes it can bypass and not be so extreme. Please don’t worry about the procedure you will be fine. Good luck.
Thank you!
Here in the UK you get a full report of the colonoscopy after the procedure. Well after a short recovery in bed and tea and biscuits. I know in the States they tend to anaesthetise you so you are out . Are you having that? It is the best way to see what is going on. I had four benign polyps which were removed. You are doing the best thing.
