Buspar / Buspirone: Has anyone had good luck... - Anxiety Support
Buspar / Buspirone
I love it!! I was used to having panic attacks once sometimes twice a day. I started on it 6 days ago and I’ve had two. Which is a major change for me. I recommend it 100%
I did not feel any different when taking this medication. But don’t let that deter you- I know it has worked for many.
It’s been around for a long time. It’s a very safe and for many very effective. It take about a month to feel the full effects. It can’t hurt to try it , but give the 4 weeks.it never effected me in a negative way at work. Best wishes
Ive been on it for the past 2 months. What have you been feeling? I had concerns with my stomach. But it passed so it may have been unrelated. I dont notice much difference. My insomnia got better for the most part. Im on 5mg twice a day.
Try giving it 3 to 4 weeks. Unless you really think your having a bad reaction. Talk to the prescriber asap. I dont think much would change in a week. Dont lose hope. Anxiety is such a burden. For me making a commitment to make healthy choices I could keep my depression away. I struggled with mental illness over 10 years. I hope you feel better after you read these replies☀️ good luck!
Thanks everyone !!!
Just as thyroidmom84 wrote, I didn't feel any different on Buspar either. After 2 months the doc switched to Prozac which was a nightmare for me. I could barely get out of bed on that one. Finally found the right combo with Paxil and Klonopin which helped me. I'm sure that it works for some and not for others though since Buspar has been around for such a long time. I was on it about 25 years ago. What I know for sure is everybody is different and we all look for a quick fix (doesn't exist) and what works for one might not work for someone else. It's easy to tell someone to have patience and wait for the medication to work but it's so hard to do when you want to feel like your old self again right now. I no longer need medication for anxiety however, it took me many years to get to this point. Thankfully there's more help than ever for these types of disorders and getting help is a phone call or keystroke away. I hope it works for you, good luck!
buspirone really really helped me ive been on it for 11 months now and plan to come off it in the next few months as hopefully it has done all its chemical balancing stuffff ! this time last year my life was controlled by my anxiety and i basically had no life because of it. buspirone and certraline are the 2 i take and work for me. however i will say the main things that helped me were beginning to understand my anxiety . its a lot of hard work. cbt worked best for me. i went to mental health hospital too as an inpatient and then outpatient as i hit rock bottom and needed to turn things around . nearly a year later and cant believe ho far ive come. medication will help but it takes a lot of hard work and when youre in such low and anxious state it feels impossible but you will get through it. wishing you the best of luck :)))
I took it and it made me feel terrible. I can't explain it. It was like drinking too much coffee.
