I was on Paxil 10mg for 5 weeks and honestly felt worse and not much of a difference so my Dr switched me back to zoloft which I was on for 10 years. I have been off the paxil for 10 days and on zoloft and buspar 7.5mg (new med) for close to 3 weeks, (25mg for one week and 11 days on 50mg). MY anxiety has gotten sooo much worse. I wake up everyday for over the last week sick, anxious, dizzy, racing thoughts and on the verge of panic attacks most of the day. I leave in a week for a 3 week trip in Europe and I'm scared to death to go. I have klonopin and xanax to take as needed but hate how i feel on them sometimes and I'm very scared of meds. I've told my dr how I feel and she wants me to increase my zoloft to 75mg now and recommended propanolol for my anxiety. I just need reassurance that this will get better or that anyone has gone through this. I'm not sure if I'm having side effects to starting up zoloft or the Buspar or withdrawal from paxil, just feel like I'm going crazy!
Zoloft, Buspar side effects or Paxil withd... - Anxiety Support
Zoloft, Buspar side effects or Paxil withdrawal???
It seems like you have withdrawal symptoms from paxil (which can be awful from my own experience) and maybe you have side effects from the buspar which may ease off as your body gets used to it. That is probably why your doctor gave you the propanolol to ease the anxiety while buspar takes affect. its unfortunate that this coincides with you going away. I do hope you will feel better for your holiday. I
I was on such a low dose for only 5 weeks though... how long did your withdrawal last and anything I can do to make it better, I'm literally working 12 hours days before my trip and feeling like I'm going crazy or going to pass out all the time. The just overall sick feeling is the worse, I just want to sleep all the time. I also think I'm getting brain zaps, tingling sensations randomly in my head and some depersonalization also.
It took me about 8 weeks on Zoloft and several increases until I felt better. My anxiety was way worse after starting Zoloft, but it eventually tapered off. The Depersonalizaton also took some time. I’m now at 125 mg and feeling better, but still have off days here and there.
My dr wants to increase my Zoloft dose before my trip but I’m scared. I stopped the Buspar bc honestly I think a lot of my side effects are from it.
I would definitely consider the increase if I were you. I saw so many positive changes after increasing to 125. While the side effects were difficult with each dose change, once I stabilized they started going away.
I just wake up around 5-6am already feeling anxious today even after eating breakfast and taking 0.25mg Klonopin I feel like I’m going to pass out. I feel so weak like I’m barely able to move. Not sure if this is a side effect from the Zoloft.
I actually went to the ER yesterday bc I almost passed out at work, was feeling faint and chest hurting. I took 5mg of a beta blocker propranolol and then everything started after it. Everything came back normal and I feel so stupid for going but I just don’t know what else to do with my anxiety. Only taken 0.25mg Xanax and klonopin 0.5mg today finally starting to feel somewhat normal but it’s still in the back of my mind. I did increase the Zoloft to 62.5mg and buspar only 1/2 of 7.5mg last night.
