I have been trying medications with my GP for so long now, this breathing issue isn’t getting better at all. I haven’t exercised in months because of it, because I am absolutely horrified and I think I have exercised induced asthma, not asthma alone, though I remember in the middle of a walk, I tried using an inhaler but the breathing problem didn’t get better, infact it got slightly worse and dizziness kicked in. I try breathing exercises but they dont help, my chest always feels tight, postural hypotension is gone, only comes when I am very anxious. But everytime I stand up, my chest feels like it weighs a ton and I cannot breathe, my breathing gets shallower and harder for a few seconds and goes away. Even when I smoked normal cigarettes, it wasn’t this bad! Back when I smoked normal cigarettes, I was able to jog a bunch of kilometers. Now...I can’t even shower, talk, laugh, or do simple tasks. EVEN EATING IS PURE TERROR! My breathing gets harder and harder after each bite I swallow. It only worsened after I switched to an vaping, my mom blames vaping for this, but I dont think that neither anxiety or vaping cause breathing problems this severe, worse than asthma symptoms. I notice that the breathing problems dont worsen while vaping at all. Sometimes it gets better lol??? I can’t eat at all, because I suffocate when I eat. I can’t even change positions sometimes without suffocating. Ugh why is nothing working😭 I am going to die, aren’t I 😞 please help me, please! I want to be a normal person for once. I can never be convinced that I dont have a lung disease or disorder, no matter how many specialists I see. I am about to lose my mind because of this, I am only 16.

Help me Im begging you
I can only tell you what helped my stepmother with her breathing problem. She played the harmonica & joined a group of harmonica players. She found this very helpful for her breathing. But she also gave up smoking.
Are you still smoking? If so try to get in to see a Smoking Cessation Counselor.
If you cannot eat try sipping on nutritional drinks like Boost. Even a little nectar over ice if that is all you can tolerate. Your stomach may have shrunk & you may need to more slowly work up to solid foods.
I hope you are feeling better soon.
have to say I don't suffer from breathing problems thankfully, but I have to say smoking, vaping and anything else that's going into your body that isn't natural like air is going to make things worse... do you live in a built up area or are you in the country? I would try and get outside in the sun to get vitamin D but in fresh air rather than on a street ....
Make smoothies with as many different fruits and veg as you can find to try and get your minerals and vitamins.
Hope you find your health soon.

Hey,
Your not alone, one of my mates who has never suffered any mental health issues in 30 years has the same thing.
He hasn’t been to work for a month and I feel he is starting to get depressed.
Keep strong

2 things you should try, magnesium glycinate or CBD oil. Both ease the the lungs and open up the air ways and are anti-inflammatory.
Hi
So sorry to hear how bad you are feeling, really tough to go through that at 16 and my heart goes out to you.
It is very likely that all your symptoms are anxiety. What is your doctor's view of the cause, if that is what she or he says you should accept this. Breathlessness is a very common symptom of anxiety and although I am almost fully recovered from GAD it is the one symptom that has lingered for me.
You will not die from it. It is likely to be getting worse because you are worrying about it more.
What I do is go for a short run or a fast walk for about half an hour when I get it and although this is really difficult I find it relieves the breathlessness greatly when I sit down afterwards and can get rid of it for the rest of the day.
After you have done your short run return home and do something relaxing and that you enjoy to reward yourself. I think if you do a little bit of excercise everyday and build up slowly you will get better. I make myself run around 3 times a week but never feel like it. However afterwards I feel so much better and I am maintaining a level of fitness.
Try really hard not to be afraid of your symptoms and they will very very gradually go.
Easier said than done however.
Very good luck.
You will get there.

I'm sorry to hear how distressed you are Sxuffering Sxoul and it must be very distressing to feel unable to breathe properly. Anxiety can cause all manner of physical symptoms though and the tension in your anxious body can make it difficult to take a breath.Have you tried relaxation exercises involving focusing on the breath? These are very good for loosening up the diaphragm. Another thing is singing...just singing along with a favourite is a good workout for those chest wall muscles.
Perhaps vaping is not such a great idea however.Would you consider giving that up? I'm not sure what they put in those things but I'm inclined to agree with your mum that they probably don't help.
Have you received any help with your anxiety? It's a terrible condition but there is support out there.Perhaps that would help.
Take care.
Hey, I am starting today to quit vaping. It’s been hours now since I haven’t vaped yet still no difference I am taking propranolol and zoloft, I have been trying all sorts of medications for years, no luck ugh. They all work for a bit then stop.. singing is pure terror for me, even talking or laughing, when I do any I feel out of air super quickly, and not only that but its hard to get enough air ugh. This is anxiety too??
Here's something worth a try. Go to Youtube and search for Andrew Johnson meditation. When you feel like you're having a breathing issue, listen to one of his meditation video's and see if it helps. Make sure you listen very closely to everything he says. Breathing issues are very common with anxiety disorders but you should always check with a doctor to be sure. Since you're on Zoloft and Propranolol I'm guessing that you already have though. Hope this helps!
Well done for quitting vaping. At least you'll be able to see if it has affected you in any way.As for the singing perhaps you could try that later on.I'm afraid any meds for anxiety are either not very effective, highly addictive or both. Try the meditation tips that gemfire suggested.Actually, I might look it out for myself....thanks gemfire. Anyway take small steps towards recovery.
