My physical symptoms from my health anxiety have hit an all time low! I'm literally dieing! I'm not getting any relief from these symptoms at all! My chest and back muscles are in agony! But my biggest focus ATM is my head! Weird weird feelings the head pressure is back at full gorse weird tightening feeling on the left side stabbing pains on the right side my right eye keeps doing blurry and my left side of face is tingling bad god I feel awful I can't function I'm all floaty when walking and my head throbs when I stand up! The past few months I tried so many different things to hel...cbd oil.. b12 vitamins...juice plus capsules.. juicing... yoga... nothing is helping me I can't cope ๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ˜ญ I had a full blood count 2 weeks ago after telling the doctor I'm not coping all was ok apart from tsh was pretty low but doctor didn't seem bothered so now I'm thinking I have a thyroid problem that isn't getting medicated!!! But my head I'm convinced I have a brain tumour or aneurysm! Please tell me I'm not alone with these head symptoms ๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ˜ญ

anxiety is a horrible thing I know there is nothing I can say that will ease your suffering but I had a brain bleed and believe me if some thing goes wrong with your brain your really know about it I was violently sick everywhere couldn't walk in a straight line felt freezing cold And had so much pain like some one had my head in a vice it sounds more like a tension headache I hope this is of some comfort

Naddy dear, you have a choice to make. I have learned the hard way. I let myself fall into fear and doubt again, but I know what I need to do. You will continue in this condition as long as you are so upset by it. You are adding stress to your stress. Or, you can take a deep breath, say I feel bad because I am in an anxiety state, pray and say God I'm going to trust you with my life and stop trying to control my own destiny, You know when it will be my time to die, so I don't have to worry about that. Forgive me for not trusting you. Then, accept the bad feelings, you know what they are, and let your nervously ill body heal. It won't happen overnight, but IF you choose to do that, relax, and truly trust, then it will happen. It always does. You will be ok.

Your symptoms are classic for anxiety, and anxious people like us ALWAYS think they have a medical condition. Read "Hope and Help for Your Nerves" by Claire Weekes if you haven't. It will definitely help you.

Everything you feel I get it too. I had a Ct scan normal brain. What's not normal is us letting this anxiety get to us...

I work full time for my family as well and it's super busy and this is exactly how I feel first there was something wrong with my heart now I think I got a brain tumour it's so hard in work I literally cannot stop but sometimes I feel like breaking down

Naddy, I understand why your doctor took you off the citalopram after taking it for 10 years, you were pregnant but you've had your child now. I don't think that now is the right time to remain off them, I think that's clear from what you said. I suggest you make an appointment soon with your doctor, tell him/her what you've told us and go back on the citalopram as they clearly worked for you.

You're bringing up a young child right now which can be challenging, it's just not the right time to come off the meds. Later on, when you're more settled in motherhood you can try tapering off the citalopram.

All the symptoms you describe I recognise as the symptoms of high anxiety and you've had blood tests which tell doctors a lot. No, you're not going to die and you don't have an aneurism or brain tumour and if it was thyroid your doctor would be responding to that following the blood test. This is all about anxiety, maybe the pressure of being a new Mum, your nervous system is over sensitised and it's firing off all these bad feelings atyou.

Sensitised nerves don't register in blood tests, anxiety doesn't show up on MRI scans, neither do they show up on CT scans, Ultrasound or x-rays. You aren't dying and these bad feelings will go one day of their own accord butfir the present I say see your Doc earliest and resume the citalopram that you know works for you.

Oh wow Jeff you just made me cry, happy tears tho lol you have just literally made my day thank you so much xx

Over sensitive nerves are very good at tricking us into believing we have some serious physical illness when really it's just glitches in our exhausted nervous system. The symptoms cause fear which causes more symptoms which causes more fear and so on in a never ending vicious circle.

But the vicious circle can be broken by temporarily accepting the symptoms which are all fake symptoms any way because they are not due to physical illness but blips in the signals our nerves send out. If we can frame our minds so that we accept the symptoms calmly and without fear we stop re-sensitising our nerves with fear every five minutes. This in time gives our nerves a chance to recover and we regain our peace of mind.

So when the bad feelings come don't fight them, don't tense up, that only causes more stress and tension which is the last thing your nerves need. Instead imagine every muscle in your body going limp and relaxing including the muscles in your limbs and your head - imagine there's a big muscle where your brain is and imagine that going limp and relaxing too. So let the aches and pains in your chest and back and head come, come one come all, there's no longer any need to fear them the way you did because you now know they are frauds, they are fake, not real physical illness: they are not life threatening, neither can they disable you or make you lose your mind.

They may make you uncomfortable but so what, you can put up with that for a while longer, the thing is you now know you don't have to fear them, you know how to to rid yourself of them with time and practice. You now know how to send all the bad feelings on their way, they will bully you no longer because you have the power to destroy them by accepting them and not fighting them. Acceptance has worked for tens of thousands and there's no reason why it shouldn't work for you. I wish you every success as you travel along the Yellow Brick Road to Recoveryโ˜บ

Naddy: I too suffer with health anxiety and I'm currently going through a real tough time in life.

I was recently prescribed propranolol it's a beta blocker and acts on the adrenaline going through your body, it calms the heart rate, shakes ect.... symptoms you get from heightened anxiety.

It's stops the racing heart and physical feelings of anxiety, if it's the symptoms that are your fear then this will deminish them!

It also stops panic and is not a benzodiazapine or other mind altering med, it's very safe to take.

Your heart rate will lower to a normal relaxed state (it won't stop)

It doesn't help with the actual mental fear but it certainly helps!

Only side effects I've had is feeling nauseous and a little light headed on and off for a little while after taking the dose. I take 20mg 3 times a day.

Most people are on a lot higher dose than that though!

I also wanted to mention that I have had bouts of anxiety for the past 16 years although the majority of that time I've been fine

My anxiety too is so crippling! I don't eat, sleep very well and I also get exactly the same pain in my back and sides as well as tension headaches but I know they are just the anxiety so they don't worry me they are just frustrating ๐Ÿ˜•

In my head I've had just about every illness there is I used to drive myself in to such panic states.

Now I only get like that if I have a real health concern or any big problem I can't predict or control.

I don't need to wish you well because I know you will be fine!

This too shall pass!!!

Best wishes xx
