Good morning! Let me apologize now for the content in this post. If you know IBS, you know this post will have something to do with gas and poo.. So yesterday I work up with burning and cramping in my upper abdominal area that unfortunately stuck around all day. Took Gas X, Prilosec and Tums.. to no avail. Went tot he doctor yesterday evening and she said that while she couldn't be certain, she is leaning towards a "back up" in my intestines, and recommended I drink Senna tea for a natural assistant in that area. I couldn't find Senna tea last night, so I drank some coffee (decaf, as it usually helps get things moving) but no help. Today I'm still uncomfortable, slightly nauseous, and was only able to "go" a little bit. I'm at my wits end on what to do, I can't really concentrate and am losing my patience with everything. I'm afraid to eat, I'm afraid this will never go away and I'll be in pain the rest of my life. Anyone have words of advise for me?

IBS? Stomach pain and fullness...
Ask your doctor for a few days worth of Laxido sachets. They are mixed with water and you take them twice a day .I find i can go with 1 aday most days.I take opiates round the clock and they have backed me up many times. In meantime dont sit too long on pot as you might cause congestion around your back passage making it swell when you need it to be normal to allow faeses out.I fibd if i eat large oranges or 2 pears it dramatically makes it easier to poo. Also with the extra warm weather you sweat more and that makes the bowel contents more likely to dry up a bit.You can take up to eight sachets or is it 6 not sure in 24 hours to get you moving quickly.Im not sure if u can buy them over the counter but you doc can certainly supply them.
Best of luck
Senna tea shouldn't be too hard to find, if you Google it several suppliers pop up, it's particularly useful for IBS. I remember when I was a child my parents used to buy Senna pods and soak them in water. As you're asking this question on the Anxiety Forum I presume you believe there is a connection between your IBS and anxiety - the stomach and bowel are indeed the organ that respond most to anxiety so if you can learn to control your anxiety through reading a good self help book or two it could make a big difference to your well being.
Do a salt water flush. 32oz of warm filtered water and 1 tbsp of unionized sea salt. That should get rid of it
If you take 2 laxidos then repeat in 2 hours ,and again in am you should go before midday tomorow ad the faeses will be soft and reasonably easy to expel.
