Now if I need an occasional medication for the stomach, I take plain licorice(I have low blood pressure) and calcium carbonate (which is what Tums is made of).

I was told not to take Tums, or antacids.

Could the Tums antacid be causing this. I see the doctor in a week but I am worried.

I am taking vitamin D and eating 2 tums daily for calcium as recommended by my primary doctor. I have also never drank milk so there is that. I have never liked milk. Any experience with boniva Thank you Jenny

Calcium CARBONATE: Absorbs best when taken WITH food, and is often found in antacids like Tums and Rolaids. Calcium carbonate contains more elemental calcium than calcium citrate, but it requires stomach acid to be absorbed.

I just showered and had some TUMS and now I’m back in bed. I was going to rest for a half hour and then try to eat. I’m now scared to eat anything, but I know it may help me feel better. I also miss my boyfriend after our fun weekend

But I did see a post last night and the lady said something about calcium and she took Tums and the vibrations went away! So I tried eating three or four tums last night and guess what the vibrations went away an hour later and have not come back!

So lots of daily tums and calcitrol for me ! Also started on synthroid 0.137 mcg daily as well, this is the beginning of a new journey so I will try to update as I find out more but if anyone has any info that would be helpful that would be appreciated as well!

Nurse prior balked and told me to take a Tums or Prilosec acid blocker, to which I thought, hell no! Why would I wipe out stomach acid needed to absorb B12. In the midst of this latest flare up, I had a preliminary consult with a Naturopath (outside my traditional provider, I'm in the US.

I took tums and the heartburn went away but now I have a headache, probably from his cats who I am allergic too. Part of me is anxious bc this morning I got a sausge egg and cheese pastry at a Portuguese bakery and I’m worried maybe I got food poisoning from that.

I am not happy this because I have dropped weight, (7 pounds) since coming off of Tums. I cannot being putting on weight because of the transplant requirements. I take stool softeners already and fiber gummies. HELP!!!!

I was taking Tums 1500mg to help, but it bound me up so bad I cut to 750. Here's the joke folks....my adequacy or Kt/v is 3.2.....I still pee. A LOT I know that 5.5 is considered high phosphorous for dialysis. Is anyone else high and what do you do. Do you use a binder and how's that going?

Mistake got the worst acid ever nexium 8 tums knocked it down. Next morning though nose was super stuffed up and threw up small amount of bile. Since then been coughing clear flem or spit every couple hrs throat feels like a dry spot when I swallow. Hot decaf tea helps a bit.

Pepto Bismol, Emetrol, and Tums do not help. I have ginger and peppermint candies but I can only eat so many of them before they start to make me feel icky again.

I have been taking Tums and Pecid AC, but although I have days that are better it seems to keep coming back. In January 2022 I had my gall bladder out. I wonder if that is part of it? I made an appt with Gastroenterology but it's not til next week.

Honey, where’s the Tums? Must have had a Lupron moment as we couldn’t find them in the cabinet, ready to go to ER it hurt so bad. Oh gosh, this kind of pain I could not wish on my worst enemy. Finally found them , an hour later it subsided.
