I suffer from health anxiety as well. Every time I get a symptom of anxiety I think that something is wrong with my body. Heart palpitation, muscle spasms, chest spasms, the list goes on. I found that controlling my thoughts help with my anxiety tremendously. Being able to put things into perspective and realizing that theres no danger is key. Also physical activity (exercise) helps a great deal. It relives stress from your body, even if you go for a short walk/run. Keeps your mind occupied on the task, rather then your health. I also took some natural herbs to calm my nerves (chamomile, valerian, passionflower, etc.) They don't "cure" anxiety per say but they do help to calm you down. Hope this helps and good luck.
I also deal with my anxiety without medication and learn some things. First of all, anxiety will go away, i know is difficult believe on that sometimes, mas it is the true, it will go away, because you are stronger than that.
Second: don't think too much, that more you think in the anxiety, more anxious you become. When you feel you are having an attack, do other things, talk with friends or relatives, listen music, anything that calm you down.
Other tip is plan everything, for example if you will travel, plan how to go, where to stay, when to come back, things like that. Know that I have the solutions of possible problemns calm me dow
hi there thanks for reply yes thats true i just try take mind of it and do other things. i am going to hypnotherapy for the anxiety had a chat with him told him my problem. said the therapy does work done it on lots of people have you ever tried hypnotherapy.
Hi dazzapfb ive had health anxiety for almost 15 years and unfortunately i had to go down the medication route. The thing is everyone reacts differently to certain things i wish i didnt have to take them but i didnt want to feel bad all the time. But now im slowly coming off the meds and ive started a technique where i put a elastic band on my wrist (loosely not tight) and wen i get a scary thought and start panicking i twang the elastic band (not too hard) and it quickly takes my mind off me over thinking that theres something wrong. I also try and think of something good or get up and do something to take my mind of it.you will get there it takes time everyone copes differently but the symptoms are all the same.
