Anybody on just 10mg of amitriptaline for pain and sleep experience bad side effects

I have started 10mg of amitriptyline for nerve pain and sleep been on it 6 days but having terrible side effects

what side effects? I have taken 10mg for years with no side effects except for occassional heart skips

Sickness weakness in arms I do take sertraline too but been on that for years

I don’t think that is because of Ami, 10mg is a very low dose. Possibly if you are small and light it could affect you more

Yes, my husband was given Amitriptyline 2 years back for pain in his shoulder and to help him sleep, the first few weeks were fine and the Doctor was about to prescribe more but my husband started getting intrusive thoughts and couldn’t clear his mind of them he saw a specialist for anxiety and depression and GP felt the Amitriptyline was the trigger for this happening. He has still got the intrusive thoughts after all this time some days visually stronger than others which is distressing, although I realise many people I know take Amitriptyline with no problems

Thank you Rosie my cat sorry to hear about your husband hope he has been sorted. I have just started the Amitriptaline 9 days ago and feel so sick and my arms and legs feel like led. Gp wanted me to increase after 5/7 days if I felt OK, but I'm not going to increase. I feel it is helping a bit with my sleep and pain. But can't cope with this horrible feeling. ive been given it and worried about effect on AF. I have taken it before 3 years ago and I did not get side effects
