On a daily basis I get skipped heart beats , rapid heart beats and breathlessness every time I get up or do some small movement , I’ve had 2 ecg that came back fine but still am confident there’s something wrong with my heart as it is ruins my day to day life , I’m scared my heart has a abnormal rhythm or I have heart disease I never believe the docs my mum and dad keep telling me it’s all down to my health anxiety just wanted to put a post on here too see if anyone else struggles with this fear 😞
Heart anxiety + health anxiety : On a daily... - Anxiety Support
Heart anxiety + health anxiety
You could possibly have a ct scan done on your heart, this will rule out any heart problems and put your mind at ease, also consider having b12 and iron tested as these can cause rapid heart rate and breathlessness if low
It’s just hard to go see my gp as of this corona virus, yeh a scan of the heart would deffo put my mind at rest thanks a lot
I understand im in Australia and we can only have telephone consults atm, but i suffered with fast heart rate and breathlessness and still do atm but i had ct with contrast which was fine, now when i get them i dont stress because i know heart is good, but do have b12 and iron tested if you havent already, low pottasium can also increase heart rate.
Ok yeh I’ll have too wait once this corona virus has calmed down, yeh I should get blood test for iron and b12 would make sense as I’m tired all the time aswell as fast heart and breathless thanks for the response buddy 😊
Good idea im not sure of your age but my daughter who was only 13 at the time now 15 had low iron and b12 she was always tired
I’m 17 hopefully I can get this resolved I’ll keep you posted 😊
Oh no you poor thing... ugh that’s when most of my anxiety started too. I was About 19 when the sudden panic attacks happened and racing heart, I blacked out in the middle of talking to someone for a second. It was horrible and I didn’t know what was happening to me and I would break down and cry. I’ve had so many tests done since then to see what was wrong with me because I have wicked bad health anxiety too. For over a decade I’ve been getting tests and there is nothing wrong with me besides my anxiety. I was always convinced I was dying of something. I hope this makes you feel alittle better that there is probably nothing wrong with your heart and it’s just your anxiety acting up. I suggest finding an anxiety specialist to talk to. Regular drs don’t always get it. Took me a decade to realize that..
Thanks you means a lot 😊
Hey low iron does this to me! It's how I know I need to boost my iron levels (heart palpitations and breathless after walking 1 flight of stairs). Also watch your caffeine intake. Take care!
Get some test ran if it eases your mind. If you’re on medication some of that will mess with you as well. I’ve been on Trintellex and it’s been working very well with no side effects. It’s off label so your insurance is going to give you hell about it but I’m telling you it’s worked wonders for me. Also look up box breathing technique. Good luck amigo.
Thanks buddy I’ll get tests run soon and thanks for the message
Yes!!! I totally relate! I went to my cardiologist last week because I was dizzy with fast pounding heart rate and short of breath after a short walk. She did an EKG & prescribed a beta blocker because she wanted to slow my rate & calm PVC’s. I took the prescription & felt worse the next day with same symptoms plus arm pain, chest pressure, and clammy hands, so I went to Emergency. They did an EKG, chest x-ray, bloodwork, echo, and even a COVID test plus sent me home with a 48-hour holter. I continued taking the meds & woke up yesterday with a face rash & racing heart. Suddenly, it dawned on me that my worsening symptoms were a drug reaction!
At my follow up today, she reassured me that yes, I have arrhythmia; it’s only about 1% of the time but for some reason I’m very sensitive to the PVC’s. Instead of taking a medication full-time, I can take a different one only when symptomatic.
I know I should be relieved after the thorough exam, but still feel concerned about every twinge 😞.
Hey, I know it’s been sometime since you posted this but I just wanted to let you know I’m experiencing the exact same thing. I get out of breath and woozy with a racing heart when I stand up, it’s actually becoming debilitating as it’s preventing me from doing exercise and other things that I know would help my anxiety! You’re not alone
Dear, I can relate to your condition. I was feeling the same condition, it's frustrating and scary that I talked to my Doctor, I came to know that sometimes our nutritional deficiencies are the cause of our depression and anxiety. In fact, I have had my ECG and all blood test is done. All my reports were clear. Do not worry, try to put your mind at rest, your condition you suffer from sometimes make you feel over sensitized to your bodies feelings. Read this might help you, ezcareclinic.com/expert-vie...
