Has anyone taken magnesium for their depression and anxiety? I've been experiencing constant dizziness even when laying down and tight chest and muscles and I think it's because of my anxiety. I've taken 500 mg of magnesium last night and this morning but I'm not noticing a difference

I also just started taking magnesium(citrate) but only 150mg at night. Been doing a bit of research and thought I better start off small(too much , they say has a laxative effect) I am hoping it helps my sleep, as with my anxiety comes terrible insomnia,,,have prescription sleeping pills but dont want to rely on them..I have only been taking for a few days and its hard to tell if there is any effect yet. I think we have to give it a bit of time....think positive

Which type of magnesium are you taking?
I started at 250 and it does indeed act as a laxative. Cutting down to 150 at night to see if it helps with sleeping.

I am new to the forum as well.
I am also taking Magnesium daily.
The best form of Magnesium to take according to the Medical journals is;
Magnesium biglycenate 200mg daily before bed.
Magnesium Glycenate ,200 mg is also good.
The body can absorb these forms of Mg much easier than others.
