Unsure of what to do

I told a friend I would take her to her colonoscopy. She just informed me today that it is on Friday. The problem is I made an appointment with my therapist after I told her I would take her and it’s on this Friday. I really need to go to this appointment since it’s only my second time with this new therapist. I’ve not been well and really need to go! My next appointment won’t be till next Friday. That will make it almost three weeks since I’ve seen her last. Too long. My friend told me if she rescheduled it would be the end of summer till she gets in. I’m torn. I know she doesn’t have anyone else to bring her. I feel like she should have asked me before she scheduled. Any thoughts?

I run into this all the time. Is it an in person therapy appointment? Would it be possible for you to have your appointment by phone or video call while she is having her procedure?

It is in person. Thank you for the suggestion but I wouldn’t feel comfortable doing a video all in front of other people. I didn’t even think of it before but when I call to cancel, I’m going to see if they have any openings before Friday. If not, I’ll have to wait another week

I called to cancel and by the grace of God she had one opening left this week for Friday a.m.
