sensorimotor psychotherapy

reading from Bessell Kolk books on truama, I learnt about sensorimotor psychotherapy. I like to keep an open mind, the beginners mind to new experiences, that said positive feedback from others helps my confidence. Could anyone share their positive experience of this therapy.

I'm trying to deal with sideeffects from ongoing psychotherapy. dont get me wrong, having weekly contact with my doctor has saved me from myself. my doctor is a psychiatrist that handles my medication and weekly therapy. having this level of support kept me from another hospital admission.

Softie because of the executive disfunction?

Despite working a lot about respect for my boundaries and owning my aggression instead of hiding it from myself during years of psychotherapy, I still have hard times when I have to confront people and say no to them. I cannot stand conflicts.

Feeling Depressed/Anxious and burnt out on life at 55

I've tried Venlafaxine, Prozac, right not I'm microdosing psilocybin, tried therapy, psychotherapy....just tired of my life :-( Can anyone relate? I'd love to correspond with someone in a similar situation to help each other out.

Or just any advice, techniques or even just a different perspective on this...I have self-referred for Psychotherapy but still awaiting on all of that and I feel actually just talking to people and having a chat and a laugh would be better therapy than just talking to a paid professional who will just

How to stop ruminating thoughts

I've tried years of psychotherapy...it helps, a little, but here I am, still ruminating. I live in a rural area without access to therapists, so that's not really an option, now anyway. I searched "How to stop obsessive thoughts" and Google said to do a mindful meditation, which I then did.

effects of ECT

It was traumatic for my partner and parents but it did work alongside the psychotherapy & development of habits such as meditation. Our local health service no longer offers ECT at all, Probably a cost saving.

Coaching or CBT?

I'm on meds and do psychotherapy but I need help to work more consistently on a specific research project that I don't have much time to complete. My medication helps a bit for some tasks, but overall I'm still unproductive and have little sense of the passage of time.

Don't blame yourself! Keep fighting the stigma.

Psychotherapy should come with a warning label like any other treatment. The fight against the stigma of mental health has been a slow slugfest over the past couple of decades.

My Story for private endocrinologist - what Qs to ask? 🤔

I am 48 years old, I am a full time carer to three autistic children, life is pretty stressful and I’m doing everything I can to help myself with some carer respite and psychotherapy.

I'm better now with the help of psychotherapy and grounding activities. I'm wondering if anyone else has experienced this type of Covid? Thank you for sharing your thoughts and experiences. [/i]

can encephalitis cause strong anxiety and weird symptoms?

My symptoms are VERY WEIRD , so I don’ t know if they are all caused by this strong brain inflammation or if they are psychosomatic.. the problem is that, after 4 years of psychotherapy, none has been able to help me … AT ALL!! Actually, my symptoms are getting worse and worse ..

going in circles

I had to switch therapist about a month ago. I’m trying to give this new a chance but it’s just not happening. She isn’t helping me to cope with my depression and stress. She is more interested in switching my meds. One of my biggest problems is I can’t stand up to anyone and say what I’m thinking. I
