I’m getting tired of this feels like I’ve been having heart palpitations hell of a lot more over the last couple weeks feeling like my heart is skipping beats slowing down speeding up fluttering. For example tonight I had some rice and shrimp for dinner simple dinner my mom made it was good ate then bam right after felt like a spasming in my chest then tried to feel my pulse felt like it slowed down and sped up fast and got a headache like tf was that. I’ll be laying/sitting or even walking and my ears randomly go shut for a little and I feel funky. And the continued waking up and feeling my heart racing is very annoying. Like I remember posting about feeling my heart slow down and skip beats when I was first taking buspar. Like wtf is going on. The nurse I told about my heart doing weird things on Zoloft didn’t seem to be concerned about it told me to just discontinue the Zoloft. When I look down I seem to get dizzy and lightheaded. I keep getting that weird cold feeling all over my body. LIKE I DO NOT WANT SOMETHINF SERIOUSLY WRONG WITH ME that’s not what I’m asking for I just want to know tf is going on it is not normal.
I’ve had a 24 hour monitor echo blood work like 10 EKGs before like idk what to do anymore

I think some of your symptoms are panic attacks. They don't have to be the hyperventilating and passing out kind. I would contact the doctor that hsd been prescribing the meds and talk to them. Is this a family doctor or psychiatrist? If you don't have someone to talk to, please find someone. I also took the prescribing of my meds for my mental health from my doctor and the psychiatrist takes care of those. They both know what each other is prescribing and my pharmacy is good about warning me about issues.
yeah idk if I want to get a heart cath right now will see if the doctors can do anything before that I’ve seen my mom get multiple heart caths done and such
I've had very bad reactions to taking Buspar that left me nearly incapable of doing anything....I'm not saying it doesn't work, but it didn't for me. Most medications I have been able to take for a few weeks and would have annoying side effects. Buspar on the other hand....the very first dose had me feeling like I could "feel" my neurons in my brains firing off. Sound and sight were so messed up, I could only sit still and close my eyes for about 30-60 minutes. In one case, I had a family member watch me while I slept it off. I would revisit taking this medication 15-20 years later thinking maybe it would vary: nope. Exact same issues. I didn't notice any issues heart wise with it. I have no doubt my heart rate increased or maybe felt off....but everything was sensory. I DC'ed that medication immediately and my doctor tried something else.
I'm not doubting the sensations you're feeling but do you think perhaps your anxiety is leading you to pay extra attention to heart sensations? I have health anxiety occasionally and if my heart rate increases, everything worsens. Blood pressure and rate increases....and we're off to an anxiety attack. I responded to another one of your posts where you considered seizures. I think paired with this post, it would be a great idea to get a fresh bill of health. A lot of things like dizziness, disassociation, heart racing, feeling cold (or hot even) and so on fit the bill for anxiety. Sometimes, just to toss in my own issues, if I eat a large meal, my anxiety is worse for it....there is a link between gut health and mental health. I myself go with small frequent meals to avoid the full stomach. I believe a hormone is released that causes an increase in heart rate since blood is needed to be pumped for the digestive process.....I found this on Google as well:
"Heart palpitations after eating are very common. They may occur if you have food allergies or sensitivities. An increased heart rate happens to many people throughout the day. But you're more likely to notice heart palpitations when you aren't distracted."
Also, depending on how long you've been on antidepressant medication, I don't think it's a great idea for them to tell you to just stop taking it unless you're reducing or replacing the med. If it hasn't been a long time (1-2 weeks...maybe 3), you may not have issues, but if it's been a few months, not taking a medication can lead to a lot of issues. I will say in the case of Zoloft, I didn't experience much....weight gain and male based issues. Nothing that made my heart race or slow.
Is it possible that you're hyper focused on your bodily sensations that may or may not be caused by the medications (like if Buspar is doing to you what it did to me)? As the Google search mentions....when we're distracted, we don't notice a lot of the sensations our body produces and surely there are many. But when we are focused on them, it only takes our mind and its ability to amplify the situation to something worse. You panic or anxiety worsens everything. I have a feeling that's where the nurse is guiding you towards. Given the fact they've done the blood work, EKGs, and a 24 hour monitor....you're young...they may just already be at an anxiety/panic diagnosis given the results, age, and being on antidepressants for anxiety.
I would definitely get a total check up for your peace of mind...you deserve that. If you receive a clear bill of health, I hope you're able to dismiss these sensations a bit. I really hope they're able to get to the bottom of this though. I totally understand the worry on the heart as that's where my mind usually goes during an attack. Truly the best of wishes to you. I understand completely not wanting anything to be wrong and just wanting to feel better. As always, hope this helps and I truly hope you feel better. I know this is super frustrating. Thoughts and support all the way.
that was extremely good advise I wasnt sure how to reply given that medication i have not had experience with, would a certified naturopath help at all?
great post, as said gut health can be linked to mental health, I eat little and often too, I can’t eat a big meal as it sets me off , also have a HIATUS HERNIA. which can sometimes feel like heart problems, palpitations etc
you need to call the doctors in the morning and tell them this isn’t normal and you need some help to fix it or figure out what to do to next, if they are still giving you shit go to the er. update us after too! im worried for you.
