Yesterday I had a session with a Therapist that I have been talking with about a year and a half. The therapist suddenly leaned back and said: let’s talk expectations. He said he did not care if I drank, did not have panic attacks, his only expectation is that we both actively participate in a conversation. I am not sure what that was about, thought we had made great progress in our past sessions. And he said that I have been meeting his expectations for our sessions.

Yeah, that's kind of weird. Wouldn't a therapist care if you were drinking??? Did they think you were talking too much? I don't know what to think either! Ask your therapist.
Thanks, I will discuss it further with them.
Thats something the devil on your shoulder would say ( if you get my meaning ) . Is this therapist right for you if 18 months all he can say is he don't care if you drink or have a panic attack but keep talking. Can I ask in all the time you've had a therapist have you changed in any way in how you see things or deal with things & I include people within the category of things ?
yes, during my time, i have tried to practice ACT therapy, and i have been doing pretty good, until recently. We even broke off my sessions for about 6 months because he and I thought I was in a good place.
