Hi All. Just began this site today and I hope I can enjoy all the good ideas from members. I have debilitating anxiety and depression and have had a lot of counseling in the past and currently with a therapist. Also just had my meds changed while inpatient and feel better but still have to check my thoughts since I worry about everything!

Welcome here ReadingRod.... when I was in patient, I too had meds changed as well
as a lot of therapy. (Anxiety) Once I got out, I gave myself time to adjust to a different
lifestyle. After all, in patient was very structured which in itself brings down anxiety.
Give yourself time to check those worries. Remember, they accomplish nothing but
more emotional pain. Now that you are on this safe site, you will hear how other's
get through one step at a time. Take with you what may work and ignore the rest.

Welcome ReadingRod! You are not alone. Have you tried stop thought? Say stop thought to yourself when a thought makes you anxious. Counting down from 10-1 or saying the alphabet can also help.
