Sounds like serotonin syndrome to me , not everyone needs serotonin for deppression in fact they may be lacking the opposite of serotonin which is dopamine
I am suffering from mild serotonin syndrome and medical professionals do not care about it you have to have major symptoms ie be at deaths door for them to take it seriously
In the beginning when I started my anxiety sky rocketed, my sex drive was affected as well, and yes numb and emotionless. Now I take any where from 125mgs to 150mgs and am doing much better. My anxiety tapered down tremendously but here and there it can hit me hard, once I reached 150mgs which hasn’t been too long ago, I couldn’t sleep hence the reason why we (my doctor and I) decided to shave off 25 mgs and if I need to I can go back to 150 if I start to get depressed.
I’m diagnosed bipolar depression and anxiety. So I do take a mood stabilizer besides just the sertraline.
I would suggest you speak to your doctor about your symptoms.
A few years back I started on 25mg and I’m now at 100mg. When I first started I was younger so don’t remember any bad side effects, now the only thing I notice is shakiness. It’s helped me a lot, and I’m sorry it isn’t going well for you. I would maybe consult your doctor on the symptoms and see what they think. Hope this helps a little!
I had similar symptoms when taking sertraline, including a non existent sex drive and feeling numb. Talk to your provider and see if there’s something else you can switch to. If they refuse then go see someone else - you deserve to feel good and should have a medical professional support you in that goal.
