it has been a very long time since I posted. I basically have anxiety particularly around driving. I am doing better and I want to share.
1. I see a two therapist. One gives me meds and the other is a talk therapist. I take my meds as prescribed to me every day. I see my talk therapist maybe twice a week.
2. I love all music but when driving, I only listen to jazz and gospel. That music relaxing me. No rock nor hip hop nor the news. I enjoy those but not while driving.
3. I drive the same route each day. The more I drive the same streets, the less stressed they make me.
4. I use landmarks. IE once I pass a certain building, I know that I am almost there, which reduces my stress .
5. for some reason keeping my window open reduces my stress even if it is cold.
These things seem to help me and I wanted to share w you. I still don’t drive the interstates, but I use google maps set to avoid highways.
I am better.
