I am trying to find a local support group in my area to meet with other people who also suffer from anxiety and depression. I have been taking Zoloft and Xanax for about 20 years and the Zoloft is not working for me anymore. I have tried Lexapro but it keeps me awake half of the night. I find myself crying a lot and cannot stop. I need to talk to other people with the same problem. Does anybody know of support groups in the Chicago area?

Hi! My name is Mala! Let me see if I can help! What's going on that's making you depress? Something about technology is that we are able to connect with those on the other side of the country, not to mention the rest of the world. If you don't have anyone to talk to, well I am here to listen and help you through whatever you are going through. I hope talking to you will help you out! Please reach back out to me I don't know you, but I know I care and want to help!

have you tried Effexor and clonazepam? I started using those just last month and I can say they work real well for my depression and anxiety, of course along with bupropion in the mix. I tried paxil prior and that worked too.
you can always check about NAMI in Chicago but there is the ADHD group led by Dr Jaksa that I prefer. He is downtown On Michigan and I prefer how the group is organized.
At least you are in a city. Does NAMI have an office there?
DO you know what is causing this, and do you have friends/family who understand? I know that that is not always possible.
How about a group of people who are sharing an activity together also?
