I’ve been struggling with anxiety and depression for years but didn’t recognize what it was until recently. I found an amazing therapist and just started medication today (Xanax and Zoloft). I’ve been going through a lot of changes lately and I’m so overwhelmed most days all I can do is cry or panic. I’m just looking for support from people who understand this feeling. Thank you in advance

Hi Melissa_kathryn and Welcome. We certainly all do understand the emotional
pain you are going through. I think you will find this support site a way to know
that you are not alone and that you are understood with sympathy and caring. xx
Hey there I hope the medication works for you. I've been dealing with anxiety and slight depression for 3 years. I've been on fluoxetine for the majority of it and it has done wonders. Most days I feel great! And the not so great days aren't that bad either. Hang in there!
Hey Melissa_kathryn and welcome to the site. You’re at the right place for support e
Everybody here have they own story to tell and will understand what u going through.
It was brave of u to reach out for help and found amazing therapist.
Who help u get on medication, Am we will keep our fingers crossed that it works.
Because u deserve to be happy, what do u like to do for fun?
Do u have friends? What skills have u learn to deal with anxiety or depression?
Am here if u ever need someone to talk too and I been taking Zoloft for 3 weeks.
And I take Xanax too so feel free to message me anytime.
Thank you for your reply! I was seen by a nurse practitioner who specializes is psychiatric care. I was a bit skeptical, but she was very thorough and understanding. How have you been adjusting to the Zoloft? About an hour or two after taking it for the first time today, my stomach became very upset. Did this happen to you as well?
I do have some very close and supportive friends. I enjoy yoga and hiking, but have found it difficult to motivate myself to do those things. I should also mention I suffer from chronic pain, so that also makes it difficult to do things I enjoy. I am hoping the combination of therapy and medication will allow me to feel a bit more motivated to try and take better care of myself.
If your stomach was upset, you probably need to eat something before u take it.
The first couple of days was a little unpleasant but it subsided and now it
Been 3 weeks I don’t have any motivation or energy so I lay on the couch all day I be in a lot of pain on a daily basis. I went from 50 mg for 2 weeks and 100mg for 1 weeks
I don’t see my psychiatrist until January will be my 6-8 weeks to fully improve so am keeping my fingers crossed 🤞🏾 and when taking Zoloft just say the medication it for u and don’t read the side effects and u have Xanax that can help u until your zoloft kick in and sometimes we need a combination of medication to work for us
I been self medicating myself with alcohol for year’s and I been sober for 2 months today so am praying Zoloft work for me so I can be stable for away

Welcome, melissa_kathryn. There are such caring, kind, sensitive, funny and amazing poeple here.
Depression is so hard. And it can be even harder to find people who "get it." But so many of us here can relate because we've been through it! Even though each person's story is unique, and so are they, we share similar struggles and feelings.
I hope you can be kind to yourself in this time when so many things are changing for you. As others have said, you are not alone. And like Brian said - we're here for you! 💖 For each other! 💕 Hugs.
MK, we're all here for you! As someone who has anxiety and depression but, who choses non drug alternatives to treat it with, I may have some interesting insights that others do not. Feel free to reach out to me anytime you want to. I'll always respond. Let me echo the others in saying, 'Welcome, aboard'. Enjoy the comradery & fellowship here. Nice to have you!
