Latest results - 6 weeks pregnant

Hello friends 😊

Following my last tests (a bit over 2 months ago), I added vitamin b12 drops 3 days a week, have cut down my B complex to 1 capsule, and I taking a separate Folate supplement as this was getting quite high, and it was pointed out to me that it is a "Goldilocks vitamin" when trying to get pregnant. Also reduced my iron supplement - will post iron results separately.

I have also since found out I'm pregnant!!! Now 6 weeks and feeling alright so far (wondering if the B12 drops might be helping as not feeling half as sick compared with last pregnancy?! Time will tell!) and I have increased my thyroxine dose by 25mcg in line with NICE guidelines.

Just wondering what thoughts on my results below are, and if you'd make any changes??

CRP HS: 1.360 mg/L (Range: < 3)

Folate - Serum 30.5 nmol/L (Range: > 7) this has come down from 45.4 (over range). Guess I just continue with the B complex for now? Has dropped quite fast though, and obvs don't want to be low on it I'm pregnancy...any thoughts?

Vitamin B12 - Active 73.9 pmol/L (Range 37.5 - 188) this has come up a bit, so guess I continue with 3 days a week and retest? Or would it be worth increasing a bit in order to maintain levels in pregnancy? Not likely to shoot up too high is it?

Vitamin D 87.5 nmol/L (Range: 50 - 250)

TSH - 0.045 mIU/L (Range: 0.27 - 4.2)

Free T3 5.6 pmol/L (Range: 3.1 - 6.8)

Free Thyroxine 19.5 pmol/L (Range: 12 - 22)

It's mainly the Folate and B12 I'm looking at, having changed doses...and also conscious they can drop in pregnancy...but any input or comments would be appreciated 😊

Congratulations! 🥳

I’d up the vitamin D if it were me, I would aim for over 100. (MS sufferers aim for over 200 which gave me perspective).

I’m no expert on Bs/folate … just learning to balance these myself. Tapering down once levels are up seems to be quite individual and particularly tricky. I’ve see sawed all over the place trying to find a balance.

Hopefully you get more useful replies, just wanted to say woop on your announcement 🐣🎉🫶

Thank you so much ! 🥰Interesting re vitamin D and MS...I'm not so good at remembering to take it (as I take it with my dinner, so not with the rest of my vits!) but I know I need to get a bit more regular!!

Congratulations on your pregnancy

You seem to be doing all the right things

Retest again in another month?

You could try vitamin D mouth spray, then you could take it after breakfast, might be easier to remember.

Thanks for the reassurance slowdragon 😊 Yes I think more regular testing will be a good idea. Re the vitamin D, I do take a spray and could do it at breakfast as you suggest, but is absorption effected by coffee as I have this with my breakfast?

Timing all my supplements right I do find a bit confusing...I usually have my B vits, and a C and zinc at lunch time, and iron during the afternoon...
