I was increased to 100mcg levothyroxine on 15th Feb.
I still have symptoms. Mainly constipation, fatigue, inability to lose weight and just general feeling depressed and down.
Previous medichecks results on 75mcg -
TSH - 2.21 mu/L (0.27 - 4.2)
T3 - 5.3 pmol/L (3.1 - 6.8)
T4 - 16 pmol/L (12 - 22)
My Ferritin was 9 at diagnosis in Oct so that's much better.
Vitamin D was severely deficient and was on loading dose and now taking 3000 per day.
I am taking B12 and have just added in B complex which contains folate so hopefully that will raise my low folate.
In your wise opinion do I have room for a dose increase and to battle the GP for one who has been happy with my results since I was on 75mcg lol. He has agreed to an increase every time so far but we shall see this time. Wanna be sure before I push for one. Am due bloods at GP in couple weeks.
Yes done under conditions recommended on here. I'm on Accord and mostly they give me same brand now.I'm definitely going to push for an increase as I still feel rubbish and I've worked on ferritin, D and B12 and feel the same lol
I’d definitely push for an increase Eternity84, but as SlowDragon suggests, I’d recommend increasing slowly.
If I needed to add 25mcg Levo, I’d add 12.5mcg alternate days at first, then daily, then slowly add another 12.5mcg so the increase totals 25mcg. For me, slow & steady is the way to go with both dose increases (or decreases) as I seem to be very sensitive to changes. Very best wishes.
