So looking at other posts

You’re not currently diagnosed as hypothyroid nor on any replacement thyroid hormones

Are you currently taking any vitamin supplements

If yes, what exactly?

Approximately how old are you?

You need vitamin D tested

Possibly low as calcium is on low side

Thanks for reply. No diagnosis other than cysts on thyroid. But my face is puffy around my eyes, feel very cold, no energy, body feels sore. Im on HRT and 54 this April. No vitamin supplements. Is vitamin D related to low calcium? I appreciate your help.

Hello, welcome aboard

Your results all look pretty good apart from the high iron level

Doesn't look like the cyst is having much effect on your thyroid, your fT4 is on the low side, though this could be your normal but without knowing what your fT3 level is it doesn't tell us much as this is the active hormone

Do you have any symptoms?

GP will often only prescribe to bring vitamin D levels to 50nmol.

Some areas will prescribe to bring levels to 75nmol or even 80nmol

GP should advise on self supplementing if over 50nmol, but under 75nmol (but they rarely do)

But improving to around 80nmol or 100nmol by self supplementing may be better

NHS rarely tests Ft3

You also need both TPO and TG thyroid antibodies tested for autoimmune thyroid disease aka Hashimoto’s

About 90% of primary hypothyroidism is autoimmune thyroid disease, usually diagnosed by high thyroid antibodies

Autoimmune thyroid disease with goitre is Hashimoto’s

Autoimmune thyroid disease without goitre is Ord’s thyroiditis.

Both are autoimmune and generally called Hashimoto’s.

20% of Hashimoto's patients never have raised antibodies

Recommended that all thyroid blood tests early morning, ideally just before 9am, only drink water between waking and test

This gives highest TSH, lowest FT4 and most consistent results. (Patient to patient tip)

Medichecks or Blue horizon offer testing of BOTH antibodies

Testing options and includes money off codes for private testing

Is vitamin D related to low calcium

Yes

ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/books/NBK5....

Vitamin D plays a crucial role in calcium homeostasis and bone metabolism. With chronic and/or severe vitamin D deficiency, a decline in intestinal calcium and phosphorus absorption leads to hypocalcemia, leading to secondary hyperparathyroidism
