hi, I can’t tolerate Teva levothyroxine. I usually get Mercury Pharma since telling my local pharmacy this suits me best, however, today I’ve been given Aristo 100 mcg and I’ve never had this before and don’t like changing manufacturer. I just get so annoyed by the ignorance out there that we need to stick with one manufacturer - I’m fed up of telling the pharmacy.
Please can anybody tell me if they’ve taken this and been ok or if I’m likely to feel dreadful like I do on Teva. Thankyou for any help.

Essexlil, I can't speak from experience as I've not had this brand, but chances are it'll be ok. Teva is the one that contains mannitol, which is what upsets many of us. I'd say, give the Aristo a try. MercuryPharma seems to have sporadic supply issues recently, so that may be why your pharmacy hasn't given it to you this time.
Hi RedApple, I may have to give Aristo a try if they can’t get Mercury for me tomorrow - they’re checking with day Lewis head office. Why is there problems with supply of Mercury does anyone know - I’m upset it’s the one I seem reasonably ok on
Aristo is a relatively recent (March 2020) addition to the levothyroxine products available in the UK.
As always, experiences and opinions vary. What I've done is compile a lost of posts which mention Aristo. Some are positive; some are negative. Some simply mention Aristo in passing.
Did you do a yellow card re Teva, I use boots the chemist and they have been brilliant, they noted my records and make sure I get the same make each month. Even my doctors have written no Teva on my records. Hope you get it sorted.
Hi Elaine, I haven’t done a yellow card for Teva but will do. The pharmacy have no Teva and Mercury Pharma to be prescribed on my records. I’ve phone them and they said they didn’t have Mercury Pharma so I was given the one they had. They’ve said they’ll check with Head Office (Day Lewis) if they can get me some Mercury Pharma. I’m just so upset after getting quite well for a few months on Mercury that it may all be ruined.
Essexlil, TEVA also contain acacia powder which is the ingredient that I cannot tolerate. I was made very ill by taking Teva. Since then I have taken Actavis/ Almus from Boots
Hi crimple, I just don’t seem to react in good way to Teva - it’s as if Im not on medication when I take it as if it just doesn’t get converted in my body. I go right downhill. Glad you’ve found ones you’re ok with as it’s no joke when the pharmacies just dish any make out until you have to start convincing them
Sorry to hear that but it is the fillers which upset me. I am just lucky that the local boots can obtain the same make every month. The prescription comes direct to them rather than go to central pharmacy for them to deal just to make sure everything is correct. I think I am just lucky. They always check the bag before I leave to make sure I am happy.
Hi elwins, I don’t know what it is with Teva, I feel as if I’m not on medication and go right back to hypo symptoms. I’m hoping the pharmacy will swap me back to Mercury, but I don’t understand the problem hey have when I get it for a few months then they say they can’t get it - does anyone know what the problem is please?
